What makes you think they lied? How do you know at the time they said it that they knew it would be coming to Steam? How do you know it wasn't simply a plan that has changed?

I once told my son we would be going to the Fun Center, that was the plan. Then something happened, and the plan had to change. Are you saying that I lied to my son? Or does things happen, not go as planned that can make plans change, which means they are not lies.

So in otherwords what proof do you have that when they made that statement they knew they were not telling the truth, that they already had plans to bring it to Steam?

Linko90 is not an employee of CD Projekt Red, he *was* an employee of gog.com but is no longer with us. His views are irrelevant.

CD Projekt did not say that Thronebreaker would never release on Steam. What they said was that it would be *released* on GOG on October 23, 2018, which is exactly what happened.

Yeah, Linko90 *was* a community manager, but this statement was made BEFORE he was fired. Moreover, even official release news still contains "available on PC, exclusively via GOG.com" in it.

Here are some more examples:

https://www.gog.com/forum/thronebreaker_the_witcher_tales/steam_release_or_no_sale/post7

I really doubt that community manager could present his own guesses as an official statement.

Irrelevant.

I will say it again: CD Projekt did not say that Thronebreaker would never release on Steam. What they said was that it would be *released* on GOG on October 23, 2018, which is exactly what happened.

Yeah, "exclusively via GOG.com":

And in the official launch trailer Steam release is also not even mentioned in the "coming soon" section:

Right. It was released exclusively on gog.com on 23rd October, just like CD Projekt advertised. Quit grasping at straws.

So? What of it?

What does it matter? It changes nothing. GOG still has the better version since its connected to Gwent Multiplayer.

Unless you don't play Gwent at all :)

Honestly I would have waited to purchase this on Steam if I knew it was coming to that platform. On the other hand, it is nice to have a DRM-free copy of the game!
