Swiftpaw: LOL, the honest answer is that their "honest answer" is bullshit.
Their answer was honest. That you don't like it is down to your own problems.

Nice job not reading the rest of my comment explaining why it's bullshit.

Oh, I read the rest of your drivel. It's why I responded.

and which part of the answer you consider honest?
that «...have to address five different versions of Linux...» might be a honest mistake showing lack of knowledge and/or experience with Linux (even in 2013 it wasn't a real problem).

but what he said about SteamOS doesn't look honest at all.
SteamOS was released shortly, GOG started to support Linux next year, we have multiple major cross-platform game engines, other vendors release AAA games for Linux.
yet CDPR still refuse to support Linux and apparently have no plans to...

All of it.

well to me it sounded more like political speech.
«...we would love to have our games there...» equal to «...I don't really believe in SteamOS or Linux in general...»

otherwise Witcher3 should have been ported to Linux by now and Linux support should have been announced for Cyberpunk 2077.

but i'm not an english native so i might misunderstand what word "honest" mean.
and you can say something honestly but act differently afterwards.

i'm not flaming here - it's just a frustration with company i had great hopes and expectations for...

You are reading what you want to read and misinterpreting it. If he had wanted to be dishonest or "diplomatic", he would have couched it in excuses. He was open and stated the reasons why. That's honesty.

what he said about five versins of linux - yes it might have beed said honestly - a honest mistake.
(he was proven wrong by actual experts in porting games to linux like icculus)

but the second part was about their future intentions and CDPR does not act on these words.
four years after SteamOS release they still have no plans to support Linux.

yes of course i read what i want to because i read and consider these words in retrospect, knowing how company acted through past years showing disrepect to Linux users instead of "love" and lying to us:

You are now taking things out of timeline and context. What he said, he said in 2013, and said in all honesty. You are making more of this just because you're a Linux fan and the ideal scenario didn't go through. I repeat, what he said he said in all honesty. There is no denying that.
avatar
Hickory: I repeat, what he said he said in all honesty. There is no denying that.
and you know this how?
unless you are Marcin Iwiński you cannot be 100% sure of it.

ok, it's settled.
Marcin Iwiński is a honest man and all he said in this 2013 podcast was 100% honest.
we don't get Witcher3 for Linux because of CDPR CEOs imaginary problem.
and CDPR will not support Linux in futher projects until this imaginary problem disappear.
but since the problem is imaginary it wont happen any time soon.

now i got it, merciless brit humor.
good laugh, honestly...
:)

The joke is on you. Prove what you have been saying, ie. that he was lying. Why wouldn't he and his company, "love to have our game there, because the more people play our games, the better for us"? Your "arguments" are laughable and, more pertinently, predictable from a Linux fan. Find a few more straws to grasp at...

great, so it is «we would love to support Linux but we have no plans to».
and it's not a "diplomatic" speech?
in such case russians say «обещать - не значит жениться», roughly translates to «to propose does not equate to marry».
you think it's honest? ok, i don't.
none of us know the truth we can only speculate but he and CDPR does not act on those his words and it is for real.

don't get personal.
i'm not a linux fan or zealot, i prefer osx for desktop.
but since linux is my field of work it's also happen to be my primary gaming platform.

As opposed to you calling Marcin a liar? Typical.

Hickory: As opposed to you calling Marcin a liar? Typical.
hmm... had to re-read our conversation to be sure i havn't wrote something unreasonable.
no, never called him a liar or it's something "lost in translation" that i don't understand.
i wrote that:
- he is wrong on the first statement «...have to address five different versions of Linux...» (not only mine opinion)
- i think he wasn't honest and used "diplomatic" speech on his second statement
(does this equal to calling him a lier? well to me it's different and not offensive at all)
- CDPR lied about Linux support for Witcher3 (fact)

Your words:
"what he said about SteamOS doesn't look honest at all."
" i think he wasn't honest and used "diplomatic" speech on his second statement"

Translation in English: "He's lying."
