Greetings,

Really enjoying the game, but the lack of surround sound is bumming me out a bit.

I am using an optical audio cable and an onboard sound card--In the audio devices the output type is "DTS Interactive" (if that matters) and I get DTS audio for movies/other stuff, but Witcher is sticking with stereo.

I've looked around in .ini files and such for settings to change, but don't see anything that would help me force the game into outputting in 5.1.

Any assistance/guidance would be most appreciated!

Thanks for the great game! Good luck getting all the kinks ironed out in the coming days.

Cheers.

Currently the game has issues with various sound cards and speaker configurations as follows:
2.1
4.1
5.1
6.1
7.1

WORKAROUND: at present the workaround is to set speaker configuration to Stereo (2.0) or Quadraphonic (4.0) until the game is fixed.
There is a reply with links to many more folks having this problem and documenting it out on different sound cards here: https://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/only_stereo_and_very_low_volume/post5
Is there a FIX in the 1.7 incoming patch for this problem?

Considering this is as much as Windows problem as it is a Witcher 3 problem, I wouldn't count on it.

I posted the instructions for how to fix this your own on Reddit:

This will also enable Surround Sound for a variety of other games.

The only game with this problem is the witcher 3, so i don't thing it's a windows related problem, i try later if the new patch solve the problem.
Your fix works well, but some game like watch dogs have no audio at all....
