Although this is a pretty big hassle for just a few xp.

It's not stupid.

It's actually a very good way to prevent the game being "too easy". And this is coming from somebody who likes to do all the side quests before finishing the main quests.

This way, when I do that (and I'm doing it now) I still get all the content the artist spent time creating, and I don't have to deal with the dis-satisfaction (or moreso, anti-climax) of the important fights being over quickly because I'm way overleveled, even on, especially on, Death March difficulty. I think it's the perfect solution.

Think about this for longer than a few seconds. It makes sense.

And the cheat engine will always be there, anyway.
