Okay, I need an straight answer here.

The game recommends me to play it on high, and when I do, I get about 25 FPS, very, very bad performance, mouse lag, all sorts of lags etc. When I play it at Lowest I get 20 FPS. This can't really be my PCs fault? Right? I mean, my specs are over recommended and I can't even play it on low? I'm not the only one with these problems.

Are these specs 2 low or should I just wait for a patch? (Yes I tried the new drivers, disablind 3D etc etc)

Quad 2.8ghz
GeForce 250GTS 1 gig
8 gig ram

I've been waiting for this game for 3 years now, I've tried to ix it for 4 hours now, I've tried everything. What's the next step? In the meanwhile thewitcher.com forums are down and no word is given from the developers. I mean, come on? Im starting to regret i bought this.
your graphics card is weak

Simple as that

I mean it

Don't expect to run in the game in high or ultra (with ubersampling disabled of course) unles you have a gtx 460 with a quad core processor
Then why does it recommend me High? That's nuts.

And, why can't I even play it at Low?
dont' do auto, that doesn't ever work

here are the steps you should take

1) Uninstall video drivers
2) Install Beta drivers 275.27 do not install the 3d vision drivers
3) Make sure you didn't install 3d vision drivers
4) Make sure ubersampling is disabled on witcher 2 video settings

This should allow you to play the game on medium, i doubt you can handle high
PS

Nividia has officially stated that drivers 270.61 are problematic with Witcher 2 and have officially asked for users not to play witcher 2 with those drivers

Like I wrote in my first post, I already tried all that. I can't barely play the game on Low.

There's something fucked up here.
Then it is your rig's problem

Sorry
I doubt it, I'm not alone in these performance issues, we'll just have to wait and see what the official word will be.
No th epeople who have performance issues are those trying to run with ubersampling and using 270.61

Everyone else who has problems is due to their weak system or something on their end
No one is ever alone in performance issues, that doesn't mean anything.

U are not alone man, at steam forums there is a lot of people with performance issue even with an 5770 or gtx460.

And your PC specs are just fine to play a modern game.

i'm afraid that i gonna be messed up too with performance issue.
HD 5750 Phenom 2 X4@3.6 6GB ram.

incoming patch maybe ? i hope yes.

I run into similar issue and I have radeon HD 4850 (The card that is stated to be on recommended settings) and i7 720QM processor. The game won't run.. Well it does but unplayable. I've tried puttin everything on low and turning off everything I could, even then in 1280:720 it still is unplayable!!! Only if I bring the resolution to abysmal 800x 600 it is even playable.

I've tried it in windowed mode with 1280 on 720 with medium setting and magically it runs well. That just shows that there is something very wrong in the optimization.

Try running it in windowed mode it might help.
OK, so I know for a fact the "recommended settings" is out of whack. The game recommends low for me, but I can play around 35 fps on High. So don't follow the "recommended" settings. You need to be playing on Medium with that card.

Anyhow...yeah some cards don't work well for some reason. I know my friend has a 460 and he's getting worse performance than my 295. Hopefully a patch soon...but until then...the game still looks great on Medium...so just try messing around.

Also, I've noticed on many games today that you can play some things on High if you just turn off shadows. There's a crazy bottleneck there for some nVidia cards right now. So try that.

Good luck!
Yeah, I think the optimization for resolution is messed up, and hopefully it will be fixed ASAP so I can enjoy this game on Medium.

I won't play it on windowed mode, that will ruin gaming experience so much.
Quickest way to get a few more FPS:
-turn off AA
-turn off SSAO
-turn shadows to medium
-turn any other filters off 1 by 1 until you reach acceptable frames.
-definitely turn off uber sampling.

This should allow you to hit your current res and max textures to your liking while giving a better performance than what the default "optimise" will likely give you. Then if you think it's running fine, turn on 1 thing at a time making sure it remains stable. Best to do this test in an outdoor map.
Yoggi; that's not the problem here, I can't even play this game on LOW. (Like 90% of the stuff disabled and the rest on low.)

Guys, please read the topic before replying.
