mbieda: Resistance to Magic: +20% Resistance to Magic

I think i got that after getting buff from places of power (those that give you protection, not sign power or regen)
Not sure if it was because I used them often or because I did use another one before the first went off... ah, it was in Flotsam woods

Hope it helps

Edit: bad tag closing -.-;

AvatarOfLight: Could you confirm that you actually have it?
You're the only person I've heard mention having it.
I think I too acquired this ability in one of my playthroughs. As of many things in the game, I was not aware at which point in time that I gained it.

Well that's one step closer, but I'm still really looking for a confirmation. A screenshot would be best, but just someone saying they're sure they have it, would please me greatly!
I tried setting myself on fire to get the Pyromaniac perk, but no luck. There is a campfire in Lobinden, but it's impossible to walk into - you can only extinguish it or light it. I guess Geralt is way too smart.

Fair enough. See attached. Unfortunately I deleted all the other saves prior to the final boss battle so I can't track when the ability was acquired. I was on Roche's path but that doesn't prove anything.

i got this ability in my last playthrough , and you can only get it in Chapter 2 , in Roche's path it's easier since there are many fires in the Kaedweni camp , you have to run into fires 50 times (without Quen ) , then you'll have the ability . It's useless to do it in Lobinden as far as i know

Hm... perhaps if you get set on fire 50 times regardless of the source (via dragon fire, sorcerer/sorceress fireballs, pitboss fight firewalls, and camp fires) you will get the ability?
You may be right but I doubt it , otherwise everyone would unlock it at some point since many enemies and bosses use fire against Geralt :)
You can unlock Pyromaniac in the prologue, actually.

+2

Yup, this is true, did it myself

I can confirm this. I got Pyromaniac right at the start of the Prologue after exiting Triss' tent. Walking into one of the fires over and over (about a dozen times) did it. Of course, at that point, you don't have much resistance, so you have to wait to get your vitality back between each time that you do it. I did not use Quen while doing it.

For anyone who like the Pyromaniac perk in chapter 1: The campfire in Lobinden is no good, but there is a usable campfire in the forest. From lobinden head to the ruined bridge but turn left before the large structure. Follow the path up and quickly you will see a useable campfire guarded by three bandits. (Just did this yesterday)
Ok. I counted and it took me 15 incineration in the training camp in Prologue (on Hard) to get the Pyromaniac ability.

Many thanks for the effort! :D
I've heard it suggested that you might get the ability for having all places of power active on you at once. I might try this, or wait for 1.3 patch, will see.

I tried the circle thing with no luck in flotsam, all 5 active at once, endurance vigour, life, strength, power.

I've never come across this elsewhere, so you're either very lucky or very good at photoshop :P

That said the experienced ability was only discovered recently, so you never know :)

Maybe you should use the circle of power a huge amount of times? I'll keep trying...
