SystemShock7: I don't know what Iorveth is saying in his dream, but the way I interpreted it, it seems he's simply dreaming about a home of his own and living in peace, rather than living a nomad's life, fighting wars.

FlintlockJazz: Same, that's how I took it. It doesn't seem to be a power dream like being a king, he's sat in a comfortable room with a nice fire smoking a pipe in front of good food with a relaxed look on his face. That says to me 'chilling out'.
Yup, me too. I don't get why people are so eager to ship him and Saskia, while she doesn't reciprocate his feelings (which, to me, are not about his love, but a sense of friendship and loyalty) and prefers dwarfs than elves.

I wholeheartedly agree. Also, high-five for the fellow Sam & Max fan! 8D

@Germanicanus Agreed with you, too. Like I said in a post (on this forum or elsewhere, I don't remember), Iorveth seemed to be more 'in love' with Saskia's ideals than her as a person.

He seems to be very much in love with her breasts too, according to the observation of Zoltan (or some other dwarf).

Putting that aside, does anyone have a proper interpretation of Iorveth's monologue (not counting speculations)?

Can you blame him, though? :P

And yes, it was Zoltan, that comment of his had me laughing so hard.

I don't think so, most of the words aren't in the dictionary. I wish CDPR did a big "fan Q&A" thing and gave us translations for untranslated Elvish lines in game :/
Any word on a transaltion for this yet ?
if the wiki translation is correct, now I am suuuuper curious to whom he was addressing :P saskia??????? hahahaha

Elaine Ettariel is not the poem Iorveth is citing... (if he's citing a poem at all)
I thought it was a remarkably mundane dream reflecting Iorveth's world-weariness a desire to just quit fighting and settle down. He's got his pipe, his drink and his roast pig, so he's sitting down quoting some obscure elvish ditty.

I'd be disappointed if it turned out to be something profound.

Yeah, I don't think many people are expecting some sort of earth-shattering message, but we're still curious about getting it translated. :)
TRANSLATION. NAOW.
Does anyone know Russian here?

Some Russian forum user posted a translation of what Iorveth was saying in his dream, claiming that this came from the game writers themselves.
http://forums.ag.ru/?board=ti_main&action=display&s=0&num=1305493370&start=5000 (post #5008)

Enhanced with Google Translation, here goes:
"Oh, carrots, tasty carrot
And still on top and fat,
Here, even the chicken with parsley ... "

For the sake of completion:
There is another attempt from the page before (post #4989) which reads "a woman wants to spend an evening, for this table. " (credits Russian-English Google translation).

I have checked until page 217. No other interpretation has been given.

See my post. He is commenting about carrots and chicken. Google Translation might have butchered the RU -> EN translation but the said post was followed by comments/jokes on the starving Scoia'tael and on the food in front of Scoia'tael so I am pretty sure at least the "carrots" and "chicken" part is correct.

It is definitely not as romantic and dreamy (no puns intended) as some made it out to be.
