It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Same problem here with win7, mine starts PowerIso so I guess it depends on which ever program you've allocated the .bin files. Right now I'm trying to run it manually from the setup file as an adminstrator.

e. And the installation starts normally. There was some kind of compilation process in the gog-downloader after it got all the files. Not sure how long it took, as I left the computer to do it for a couple of hours.

I had the problem where it would load the program (in my case vlc for some reason) that was associated with .bin files, so the downloader is trying to open the .bin files to install it rather than the .exe file! wtf?!

But anyway after some searching I managed to find the files (doesn't tell you where it puts them!)

I manually ran the .exe and all is going well so far.... I am currently waiting for it to decompress the data, so fingers crossed....

But yeah someone should sort out the fact the GOGdownloader doesn't actually run the .exe file when you click install.....

I had the same problem!
The GoG Downloader was opening VLC. But then i had to just go to My Documents and run the Exe myself.

Now i have a problem with controls.csv or something like that.
Reinstalling now. :(

Just a quick question. I've deleted the GoG downloader files and I'm now trying to download it manually through the website. Has anyone had any joy with this approach to fixing the corruption problem?

Well finished my installation now without a problem, so you'll do fine too I should think :)

For anyone else wondering about the location of the downloaded files, you can change it from th GOGdownloader program from options tab.
Mine is at "9602 MB of 9723 MB - paused". It will not allow me to download further or install. There is no exe in the folder. Took me about 20 hours.

I seem to be having a problem that when the game tries to install it can't find one of the parts despite it being located in the same location as the other ones that can be found. I would rather not have to download it again as I am Australian and I only have 20 gig a month that I can use.

Restart your GoG Downloader.
When you finish the download, go to the download folder and there should be setup exe.
I had the same problem with bin 2-2 not combining right. I deleted bin 2-2 and bin 2-2 chunk 0, removed the game from the downloader, re-added and then it combined correctly. thanks for the help.

mjcowley: Thanks for the assistance, unfortunately it did not help.

With all these checks and changes, I still get informed all the large bin files are corrupt when attempting to run setup_the_witcher_2.exe

Firek: This shouldn't be possible if you used the Downloader... Don't hate me for this, but can you try redownloading the game from scratch?
This worked and the integrity check passed this time. Thanks again :)
I've been through this forum for a few hours now, downloaded the game 4 times and still can't get the damn thing to work.
I'm never buying anything from here again. Easily the worst service I've had for buying games.
Hi all

First off I am quite dissapointed with the game not installing so far.

I downloaded the seperate file parts since the GOG downloader was not working for me.

But when I clicked setup.exe it gave me this error
Cannot open file Witcher 2 setup2-1.bin.

I have 7 file parts all together

Please help
The support on this website and the service is almost non-existant. I've only seen 1 or 2 replies from gog.com support staff and they've not even been helpful at all, simply repeating what it already suggests in the solutions area for self-help.
Ok, I've tried deleting some chunk files and reloading the Witcher 2 download and integrity check and it's STILL not combining some of the chunks into bins.
This is the third time now I've tried it.
Even if I can get them to combine, I'll probably STILL get an error saying that it's corrupted or something.
I have installation problem too.
Download via browser or GOGdownloader is OK, integrity check is also OK.
But I got errors like this during installation:
The Witcher 2\CookedPC\en0.w2speech. or
The Witcher 2\CookedPC\movies\intro02_hu.usm. or
The Witcher 2\CookedPC\pack0.dzip etc
The source file is corrupted
What should I do? I have tried installation from files downloaded by GOGdownloader and browser.
