monstermax20: I just tried Aerials1 solution. It worked like a charm!
Thanks mate! installing as of right now....
see you in "the game won't launch" thread XD (hope not :S)

Edit: ok, ran the exe... corrupted files... 2-3 & 2-5.bin
Strange thing is that i decided to run it again... now i had 3 parts corrupted... 2-1, 2-3 & 2-5...

So that leaves 2 choices: either the exe is corrupting them, or the gog downloader corrupted all of them when "combining"

Buster-kun: Same fucking deal. Spare yourself the hassle, I've gone through every option. Just redownload the game from scratch using the GOG downloader. That's what I'm doing, 45 mins left until I'm POSSIBLY playing this goddamn game.
Guess that's what's gonna take for me too... *sigh* i had hopes of playing at least 5 min before going to work...

haha! me and you are in the same exact boat. I got work in the morning, too. this is just a nightmare bro. so, ya, we'll get to play 5 mins before work ASSUMING it actually works this time.
Let's focus on one problem at a time.

Do not try to open the .bin files - they're archives. You need to launch the .exe file.

Make sure that you've got a lot of free space on your drives when you finish downloading - the Downloader will need it in order to merge the files.

After the Downloader merges the files, it checks the merged .bin and .exe files' integrity. This means it's impossible for corruption to happen on the Downloader's end. In such cases I suggest checking your hard drive for errors (Scandisk, thorough scan) and your RAM as well (memtest86, bootable CD).

When launching the installer, make sure that your user account has Administrator privileges and that User Account Control is disabled in your operating system. To do this, go to Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Change User Account Control settings. Move the slider to the lowest position ("Never notify") and click OK.
Afterwards, launch the installer by right-clicking its shortcut and selecting "Run as Administrator" and let me know if that helped.

Thanks for the assistance, unfortunately it did not help.

With all these checks and changes, I still get informed all the large bin files are corrupt when attempting to run setup_the_witcher_2.exe

This shouldn't be possible if you used the Downloader... Don't hate me for this, but can you try redownloading the game from scratch?
LOL, same deal. I just got done downloading the game from scratch. Complete NADA. The download manager "compiled" and verified game integrity, everything's A OK, right? Click the install button, nothing happens. Go back to GOG folder and 2-2 and 2-4 are all in separate chunks. I have 150 Gb freespace on my harddrive. I run the .exe manually, verifying integrity, aaaaaaaaaand guess what, 2-2 and 2-4 are somehow corrupted. This is nuts. Can I just get refunded here, so I can go buy it at retail?
Same problem here.
2-2 corrupted.

Not a problem. I'll let you know in this thread how it goes.
Similar prob.
I can't get the downloader to work so I dl'ed through browser/DTA.
Double clicked the .exe and it came back with part /3 and /5 were corrupt.
Redl'ed 3&5 and both were corrupt again.
Checked again and it came back that all parts were corrupt.
DTA supposedly has md5 checking.
Sigh.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!
Just to save me another wasted download...

I'm assuming that my cdkey etc will work fine if I download it from an, errr, 'alternative' location?

I'm not a pirate, I've already paid for it, I just don't want to re-download 10gb just to get corruption errors again.

Holy shit! I didn't even think of that.....if the problem isn't solved by tomorrow afternoon, that's probably what I'll resort to.
For some reason my setup_the_witcher_2.bin file is a different size from what people have posted in the screenshots.

My file is 132,230,118 bytes as apposed to 131,396,269 as posted here: http://i52.tinypic.com/2hghi0l.jpg

Why is this? I have tried downloading both manually and through the downloader. All other files match size.

sigh.
Well I am finally up and running. It wood have better if GoG had let people know how the downloaded files would later combined and work.

For others with a similar problem to me this is how it worked for me.

My original pre dowload were bin files
setup_the_witcher_2-1.bin.chunk0
through to
setup_the_witcher_2-5.bin.chunk31

I tried to run the GoG downloader a number of times. First nothing but then it downloaded some other files, then changed it's message to combining & checking. Eventually the files combined to a few archives and the exe to install.

I am guessing it took a few tries because the servers are working flat out. Unfortunately patience may be required.

Since the files are verified as they are combined they should be error free, but it looks like some people are having problems.

Game looks good on my mid system 3.0 dual core 2 gig ram and ATI 6870 graphics card.

No 22" monitor support is a bit strange but I can live with that. No mouse in game so I can not use my second monitor for the map and guide etc. IE I can not switch focus to the second monitor. May be a way but can not work it out yet.

I am more interested in seeing how the DRM Free bit goes with the patches now.

Anyway hope all the install problems end soon, possibly ease up a bit tomorrow if people are having problems getting the last bits of the download.

(Aussie on vacation)

PS
For the third installment I want the option to get a "witcher medalion" don't care how just want one. Solid bronze or similar.

Just to add my voice to the cries.

Second time downloading and I'm getting corruptions on bin 3 I believe. While I'm trying to cool my temper, I have to admit I'm starting to get cross when it takes half an hour to attempt to install the thing only to be informed that its corrupt.

I truely hope this is sorted (as well as the other problems that are being reported) as soon as possible.

P.S while testing the archives once again its now saying bin 1 is corrupt. This downloader/installer appears to be broke.
Well I tried everything to no avail. I can only conclude that the process by which the chunks were combined failed somehow.

I will try re-download all the files again. This may not seem like much but in New Zealand we pay for our bandwidth. This will cost me $1 per gig.

Sigh.
