Don't take it personally. I meant that this:

I believe Carmack above anybody else on the subject (including the "experts" here). The mere fact, that he didn't try to ridicule these claims should say something about the feasibility of the tech.

That's the difference right there. Carmack is open about what he is doing. That one sentence said more about the technology Carmack is working with, and gives more confidence in what he is doing, than every stupid dog and pony show Dell has ever trotted out.

Voxels are legitimate technology. Technology that its author claims is not voxels because nobody took him seriously when he called them voxels is not legitimate; bullshit is still bullshit.

Show me an interview of how open Carmack was when he did Wolf 3D.

Carmack said more that wasn't mere bullshit with that one statement than Bruce Dell has said in eight years of beating this dead horse.

You don't get it do you? They're not on the same situation.

Both are working on technology that they claim is useful for some purpose. That is not different; it is the same. Carmack actually said he was using particular base algorithms and technologies that are meaningful and understood. Dell has never done anything that is not mere hand-waving and crying that he is misunderstood. I'm tired of him. He can take this snake oil that he's been trying to sell for eight years and dump it in the bit bucket for all I care. He will never have any cred in this industry. I am through discussing him.

Carmack is rich and successful. Dell is NOT. If he's a snake oils salesman is just a matter of time. He has the power to prove or disprove himself, you don't and you feel frustrated because of it when in reality all you have to do is wait.
