H2IWclassic: It wasn't just the Americans that had a problem with the cards, it was mentioned in most reviews as being out of place.
Yeah, it seems strange but not because of tits, because it doesn't really seem attached to what's going on in the game. Is Geralt himself supposedly getting cards of each woman he sleeps with? Do they give them to him or do they magically appear whenever he screws someone? That oddness is still present even if they draw a shawl over the tits. It'd be like eating a sandwich and then, hey presto, you get the ham sandwich card!

Anyway, it was his specific use as "tasteless" in a game where you slit peoples throats with your broadsword and splatter blood around. Of all the things in the game, erotic drawings are probably some of the most tasteful. Then this is America where they redraw the artwork on videogame cases to remove cleavage but don't mind the gameplay involving blowing peoples' heads off or chainsawing their limbs away.

Export: Why is a naked human body "tasteless" but slicing up people with a huge sword so that blood gushes out and stains the grass apparently "tasteful"? Oh America, never change!
Did you read TS reasoning at all? He has valid reason. I too think these sex card quest is out of place

Yes he finds the naked body tasteless but is fine with lacerating huge wounds all over it. I completely agree that it seems like an odd thing, but to go so far as to try and remove it from the game seems more odd. I agree with his stance that it's silly either way, as I just said, but it's no doubt caused by the "sex is scary, violence is COOL" mentality that America seems to have. Go to the seaside in Britain and you see cards like the Witcher's ones for sale in most shops, easily visible to children and adults alike. It's just tits, yes it's out of place but I get the feeling he wouldn't be trying to remove an out of place set of cards from the game if it was for animals you've killed.

Can't you skip through the 'scene' with escape like you can do with dialogue etc?
And if it's really only a personal thing and not a 'please let nobody check out my screen right now' thing, you could just close your eyes for long enough, probably the easiest fix there is. ;)
it's not really the art that is tasteless (well some of it it: Abigail's card was pretty bad and didn't match her personality at all) it's the whole process of collecting the cards to catalog your sexual conquests that I don't like. changing the art on those cards to something that isn't as explicit was only an intern step ....

as was stated: the process of collecting the cards is clearly a fourth wall breaking element designed for the gratification of the player, not that it's some kind of plot element relating to Gearalt's character, it's fine if you like them but I'd personally rather have a "Hot Coffee" like fuck game ... at least then the sexual content would have some kind of game play value.

PS, yes it was the .bik files that I replaced but it still only effected the images you get when clicking the heart icon, the little cut scene where it's all blurry and kinda out of focus in the background while the card pops up is still the same topless version of the cards.
