Well, TLD got update to 1.44 :). Thank you GOG.
Good news for a change for the GoG TLD community
Finally! It only took 16 days this time.
Of course the holidays did kind of get in the way a little.

Shame GOG doesn't offer a 1.3.7 to 1.4.4 patch, but I would have downloaded the full version anyway so it's no big deal.
I don't know if Hinterland has time to read the posts here, I think they invited us to post on their website's TLD community forums. But I've been commenting on their YouTube Redux video for several days and telling them how excited I am to get the update on GOG.

So glad it's here now!

Is it possible to install the full version over the existing installation without loosing safe games (Survival mode) ? Thanks in advance!

Usually yes, but Story mode save games get wiped by this Redux version. Survival mode save games are preserved, but Hinterland has warned that changes in Mystery Lake, Milton/Mountain Town, Forlorn Muskeg and Broken Railroad regions might have effects on items stored in those regions. They recommended moving the items to another region just in case. Another way to solve this is to pick up all items and then save while carrying them. It is also quite likely that nothing goes wrong with the survival mode saves even without any special preparations.

I just stopped by to tell you the same thing 1541 just said. :-)

I did move all the important stuff I had stashed in Milton and ML, so I can't say whether that stuff will get lost on the update or not.
I just moved the stuff in Milton to the transition cave to HRV and I moved the stuff in ML and Carter Dam to the transition cave between Winding River and PV.
I just have updated the game and checked the cave to PV and all my stuff was still there.
I played TLD a little more and checked both transitions caves mentioned in my previous post and everything was there.
Also, to the best of my memory (which isn't what it once was LOL!), all the stuff I didn't move from Milton and ML is still there.
Whether or not that means stuff didn't need to move I can't say. What I moved is the important stuff like guns, bows and arrows, knives, hatchets, etc. What I didn't move was food, clothes, medical stuff, etc.
Thank you all for your informations and help!
I updated the game without moving any items before and it seems everything is at its place. I had harvesting almost everything in every map before and put them into my *homes*. So I can not say if items in its "original places" had been affected. I have already spotted some minor changing in locations (a new shortwave tower in forlorn muskeg), some bugs (magical flowing items like stones an branches) but nothing serious.
Unfortunately they seem to change the contrasts of dark places and items especially at night and early hours. Maybe its just my pc-configuration but the top outside floor of the lighthouse for example is almost dark and I can barely see the food I drop to the floor (even after sunrise). The no.3 connector mine from CH to DP is absolutely dark and I can not move without a light source (which was possible before). The rocks and cliffs are so dark it takes away the nice smoothness of colouring before, that I realy liked.

But who am I to complain :) I love this game very much still after playing almost a year now.
Thanks to the guys of gog who still made updates possible!

You will have to adjust the brightness again. They did make some changes in that regard but adjusting the brightness setting when first loading the game fixes it.
I had to change mine from 110 to 95. You'rs will most likely be different, but it does need adjusting.

It seems I found another bug as the brightness menu only appears after starting the wintermute modus the first time. I did not immediately after updating (1st checking my survival mode items ;) and was wondering why there was no brightness menu at all oO (could be a language bug though). 95 seems works fine for me too, thank you very much Hawk !

It's always been like that, even in Survival mode. You can only access the Brightness screen when first loading the game. I wouldn't call it a bug, but it does seem weird that you can't access that screen like the other options; while playing.

the ingame options are (translated from german)
-input assistance
-display
-quality
-audio
-controls
-assignment of keys
-(and "savegame" in wintermute)

no brightness access in display menu (alltogether 14 menu points).
Yea, as I mentioned, the Brightness option isn't available from within the game, or during game play. It's only available when you start TLD, as shown in the below 2 screenshot crops.

If you select Wintermute or Survival Mode first, you won't have access to the Brightness option.
You have to select Options on that first page to get to the Brightness setting.
