marianne: I just finished the game and thoroughly enjoyed it. I got a very definite impression at the end that there would be a sequel and I sure hope so. Each game is a standalone and it is a great series. Well done.

MarkoH01: They said that there is still some story not told since they planned a trilogy and have only told 2/3 of it. Spread the word and buy another game ;) only sales can reassure another Tex game :)
Yes...These Tex games are soooo good that they are classics. They are true Adventure games which is my fav genre.
Btw...I've been telling everyone to buy the game. It's a must have.
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I was poking around Aaron Conners' website and he says:

With the success of the game and the renewed interest in Tex Murphy, I am looking forward to telling the final two long-lost stories as well. One will pick up from the end of The Pandora Directive and reveal the exciting events that happened prior to Tex Murphy and the Tesla Effect. The other will continue the story that comes after, leading up to Tex's last ride into the sunset.

Now since Aaron Conners writes the Tex Murphy novels, this could just be referring to two new books, but it sounds very much like they are planning to go ahead with two new games. Not sure how they will do the one after Pandora, given the age of the actors...

I found this on his website as well: Aaron is currently writing a new (fourth) Tex Murphy novel, which will be released in late 2014, with plans to write a fifth and final novel to complete the Tex Murphy series in 2015.

I assume he means complete the Tex Murphy Novel series...but I'm not sure. It wouldn't be the end of the world if we had to read the conclusion rather than play it, (I hear the novels are really good) but I also would prefer a game, personally.

I was a backer and I got an email a while back about the novels: Fourth book is right after Pandora Directive but that will just be a book and no game for it. The fifth book WILL be the next and last game if Tesla sells well enough.

Fingers crossed.
I also think they shouldn't rule out another Kickstarter campaign. Maybe they won't get as much as the last time, because many high-level backer won't/aren't able to pledge such huge sums again, but I think that most "Mutant League" members are willing to pay a little bit again (and there are most likely also new people who became fans because of Tesla Effect). They could combine the Kickstarter money with the revenue from the Tesla Effect sales to make a new game.

I think its a genius idea to have the fifth book out before work is every started on Tex 7. If its an amazing finale, it will drum up a ton of interest for that game.

There was a lot of renewed interested in Tex Murphy after Tesla Effect. If they are short on cash a second Kickstarter (billed as "the final Tex Murphy adventure") would do very well. I missed out on the first Kickstarter and would happily donate to a second one.

Yea, I didn't get into the Tex Murphy series until Under a Killing Moon, but at that time in the 90's, I was gifted that game, and I wasn't aware of any other Tex Murphy games before that one, or any that were made after it, until Tesla Effect.

Actually just finally beat Tesla Effect a couple of days ago for the first time, but going to run through the game again, and hook up with Taylor and see if there's any change to the ending. I was extremely shocked, because I honestly thought Chelsee was going to show up in Tex's office, with arms wide open. I'm surprised that wasn't an alternate ending. I thought Chelsee was all about Tex once they had gotten together. After seeing the video of the both of them getting shot in his speeder, and in Tesla Effect she's married? That kind of threw things off for me, but Tesla Effect was an amazing game. I really enjoyed when on the last day they played that part from Under a Killing Moon, where it starts the last day, with the logo, and that snippet of jazz, brought back some good memories for me. And this game was done way better than Under a Killing Moon, as far as things flowing.
