My game just crashes now using the mod. Keep getting battlegrounds_x1.exe has stopped working. Before that no disc inserted.

Tried all the patches on windows 8 and not working. Oh well. Gave it a try I guess. No widescreen for me.

Zyankali: GoG's battlegrounds_x1.exe has some "special" fixes. If you replace the EXE and start the widescreen patch, all fixes are gone. So I created a *new* repack that works with GoG's release:

1. Clean Game (without widescreen mod)
2. Download GoG_SWGBWide.zip and extract in your Star Wars - Galactic Battlegrounds\Game folder
3. Start SWGBWide_x1.exe and patch the game
4. Start rename.bat
5. Start widescreen.bat every time
Worked great for me, I have no clue what's wrong with everyone else's game.

I'm using Windows 7.

Rename.exe is giving me an error saying it can't find the files to patch. Widescreen patch SEEMS to work, but if the rename patch isn't working, there is a problem.

I tried the fix, it all seems to work but then I get an error on launching widescreen.bat. If I launch the game regularly, it still works but isn't widescreen. I'm on Windows 7.

doesn't work for me, aswell as the patch from xap4oru which is mentioned by Lurtz.

i used the links from the 4th post, 1600x900, problem is, the game starts but it becomes unplayable cause of low fps.

I updated my patch to work with GOG version and resolutions smaller than 1024 high

Instructions:
1. Copy with replacement all files from GOG to {PathToGame}\Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds\Game\ folder.
2. Double-click on SWGBWide_x1.exe -> patch will apply.
3. Run game from wide_battlegrounds_x1.exe and select 1280x1024 resolution in Options.
* If you can only select the top two display settings, not 1280x1024, run the game only from wide_battlegrounds_x1.bat. It launches wide_battlegronds_x1.exe with parameter 1280. This method forces resolution 1280x1024 for all users.

Doesn't seem to work for me sadly, did a fresh install of the game before I tried.

Not working for me, I still get 1280x1024 resolution, not 1900x1080- Windows 7 64 bit. I followed your easy instructions to the letter.

Im finding out that my laptop graphics card just doesn't have enough options.
My desktop running windows 7 64 is fine, but my windows 8.1 laptop just can't push into fullscreen on any of the gog star wars games.
Oh well.
