The vanilla version of Soldier of Fortune 1 (which gog.com sells) contains bugs which can be exploited to:

- Download any file from clients/servers!
- Remotely execute arbitrary commands on clients!
- Lookup the IP address of all players in a server

Nice to see that there's at least one person who cares about games' security...

Gamers, in general, are so ignorant and apathetic about it. And I have a hunch that game developers are equally so, because why lift a finger when gamers don't know or care? My gut says online games in general are riddled with exploitable security issues.
