Atlantico: Mmm it playes better in some aspects than before, i.e. maxing visuals works fine, but it stutters every now and then, which is very disappointing. I've yet to tinker with the settings, so this may be mitigated, but it's just annoying.

Plumb: On my system, this is one of those games where it's very jittery if I don't enable v-sync or limit the frame rate somehow. Obviously, I opt for a frame rate limiter to avoid the mouse lag.
(Actually I limit the framerate in almost all of my games)

On my 60 hz display I set the frame rate to 59 and it's very smooth. No tearing and no jittery frames.

If you are already doing that then I'm not sure what's causing it.
I've got v-sync enabled and all that, and it's not tearing or anything like that, just every minute or so there's a very short stutter. It's long enough to be noticeable in fights where the action is fast, but as I said, I have not tried much tinkering. It's just a thing that wasn't in the DX 9 version.

I've got an 8 core (or 4 core) FX8350 and 16GB RAM and 2x HD7950s on Windows 8.1, the system should be able to handle this game fine, but I remember I had to scale down some graphical features on the DX9 version to get it completely smooth, perhaps I need to do the same thing here too (it was reflections or some strange thing that no one ever uses anyway) ... regardless, I'll post if I get it fixed.
The reflections are the main thing that were optimized in this version, and that's why hardly anybody used them in this game before... they caused a MASSIVE performance drain.
Now, with the new DX11 version, everything is totally smooth as it should have been.

I'd say it's strange that you would still need to disable mirrors on this version of the game.

Why do you need to disable mirrors? The Linux version works very smoothly on ultra settings with everything enabled.

At least on Windows mirrors are most resource heavy on this engine, but provide cool effects (visible only in few places) so choice is yours. ;-P
Hmm I don't have the DX11 version yet

You might have to do an account refresh as described in this post

Then there should be separate "Shadow Warrior (2013) DirectX 11 Version" entry in your library.
Does anyone experience a bug in the new version, when every new save overwrites the previous one? It's pretty annoying.

Is there any reason to use the non-DX11 version? Other than it not working on Windows XP?

JudasIscariot: Hi all,

We have a BUNCH of updates for you for the entire Shadow Warrior series here on GOG :)

Shadow Warrior 2013

Before doing ANYTHING at all, please refresh your account as we have included a separate installer, compatible with Galaxy's autoupdates should you choose to use that particular feature found in Galaxy once it gets released.

This separate installer with the snazzy black cover is the Direct X 11 version of the game for those of you who would like to enjoy the game in native DirectX 11.

To refresh your account, please click this link: https://www.gog.com/account/refresh

Along with the DX11 version, you should now see a Mac DMG and a Linux tarball for Shadow Warrior 2013. If you use Mac or Linux, please download the snazzy new Mac and Linux files, they're fresh out of the oven :)

Bonus content

Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior has been updated. Please take the time to redownload this mini-game :)

You also have the soundtrack in MP3 or lossless FLAC.

For those of you who like artbooks, there is an artbook included in the bonus goodies section of the non-DX11 version of Shadow Warrior 2013.

Changelog for Shadow Warrior 2013:

Shadow Warrior Classic Complete

We've uploaded a new DEB and a tarball for your Linuxing pleasure :) We hope this venerable classic plays well for you under Linux :)

Thanks and have a nice day :)

edit: the non-DX11 version version did not receive patch 1.5.0 so if you would like the latest version, please play the DirectX 11 version Shadow Warrior 2013 :)
This is a bit late but I'd like to point out that save files won't work with the new update. Only initial level save files will load.
So is there any reason to bother storing/playing the original, I guess non-DX 11 release?

The files are fairly huge, and I can't see that I'd bother with the old one, but I'm not sure...

Also weird that the DX 11 version is like 1GB SMALLER than the original.

I'd love to know technical details behind this too...like why totally different installers to download versus having it be a toggle in-game? Must be a more-massive change than most games have...
Is there any reason, why Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior still is on Version v0.28, here?

On Steam, the Game-Version is meanwhile 1.091 !
