Kank: So, just to be clear, the version I just finished downloading that is labeled as 1.5.0 is not really version 1.5?
I don't mind waiting but it should not have been labeled 1.5.0.
It is version 1.5. But it is the 32 bit DX9 edition which was released as a fall back for windows xp users.

What we are waiting for is the 64 bit DX11 edition.

Mac and Linux versions are posted so you could use those if applicable.

But according to the developer and what Judas wrote in his announcement:

Changelog for Shadow Warrior 2013:

1.5.0:

- optimized 32 & 64 bit build
- DirectX 11 based graphics
- modified gameplay

Version 1.5 has dx11 in it. I went to the Steam forums where the developer monitors the discussion and there is no mention of this special 1.5 version that we have here. I'm not complaining. It's just that when I saw 1.5.0 I thought it was the real full 1.5 with everything in it.
So is this something special that only we get? That's great for some people but I still think it should have a different version number.

Quote from the developer's release announcement:
"Please note that version 1.5 is not available for Windows XP."

And another thing, there is no mention of this dx9 edition in Judas' announcement. Just a mention of some mysterious black box cover that I've never been able to see. If it wasn't for the trouble and messages and help all the people here in this thread have been discussing I'd never know what the hell is going on.

Is it in the game setting options to set the API ?

I'm not planning on installing it because I'm waiting for the performance improvements in the dx11 version but my guess is no. It has been decided that it has to be two separate games to make it easier for updating when this Galaxy thing gets started. Judging by the questions I see here there is no dx11 capability until this new black box appears.

Atlantico: I'd prefer an OpenGL version on Windows too, since they've already ported the thing to OpenGL.

There's no really good reason to waste development resources on DX when you have to make OGL versions too. Just make it all OGL, Windows works fine with OGL.
May be, but that would have required more work. Don't forget it was just a couple of people doing it (and not at the same time, i.e. one after another). So their efforts were focused on platforms where the game didn't exist at all.
With so many people here waiting and not finding one reporting how great this game now with DX11 is I am wondering if there is somebody that has access to the new Shadow Warrior DX11 version on GOG...
It would be cool if the team would simply include the DX11-Version as a bonus download option to the regular box in the libshelf till the issue is fixed...

I think that now on weekend nobody is workimg at all - even Judas has obviously taken a break (unbelievable ;)). So I think they will fix this tomorrow. Since I still have some games to "work through" I have not a big problem with this.

Some games? I could do full-time-gaming this whole year and would not have beaten any substantial amount of my GOG-Collection! :D My main interest in SW DX11 right now is benchmarking...
(already did two and a half playthroughs!) ...so I can rate how well-done that update is! (Beta-Testers told it would be 50-100% more performance on their systems!)

BWT; I´m never sure whether they are working on weekend---I definitly received an answer from support yesterday, as an example!

Could you please tell us the download link for GOG Downloader then?
Simple go to your account, set use GOG Downloader to on and then click on the link with rightclick---open in new tab.
That URL would help us a lot!
