It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Plokite_Wolf: Chrome blocks a lot of things that it shouldn't be blocking.

katerinafm: First time it's done it for me. Just wondering if there is a manual process.
Unless you can hex-edit an executable file or disassemble it, not really.

There's no reason to distrust a highly-rated solution on a legit forum (there's even a link to VirusTotal to prove it's safe). Just unblock the file in Chrome or download it through another browser and you're good to go.

MarkoH01: GOG capped the game for stability issues and is refusing to give us the option to remove it even though those issues don't occur for everybody. So after a bit of research and with the help of a friend I now have found a way to remove the cap from the GOG version completely - no matter if you are running on nvidia, Intel or AMD.

GOG capped the game in two steps:

1) Using nvidia inspector to inject a 30FPS cap. This is only working with nvidia cards.

Because of the inspector "fix" not capping the game when using AMD or Intel cards they also fiddled with the executable file. When asking support they'll only tell you how to remove the inspector cap (I did so I know ;)). This is shown here and needs to be done first if you are using a nvidia GPU:

http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Saints_Row_2#High_frame_rate

(In case you cannot find the directory where the nvidia inspector is stored - if you don't use Galaxy it is stored in the subfolder NI of the game's install directory.)

2) So far so good but the game remains capped because of the modification GOG did to the executable of the game.

Zyankali, a fellow GOG user, did a patcher to remove it completely. It is only possible due to his help to remove the final cap and I am very thankful. Download the patcher here:
https://mega.nz/#!cYd3yRpQ!IWM0gXrOCvqC4kc8U8t5aky4CqRGjRIeRAs6b_MhHqM

Put it into the game directory, start it and click on "Patch it!". It will patch the executable file and also create a backup file in case sth. went wrong. In case you don't trust the file also take a look here:

https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/b71b21f921292725acc567e29380cc156fce001f08baada2c76942c0232bd610/analysis/1492949061/

So you can see that the file is clean even though some few scanners might give a false positive (unfortunately this happens sometimes with programs that are meant to patch files).

Even though there is no virus contained and the patcher is supposed to make a backup of the original executable please be aware that using this patcher happens at own risk. The same thing applies to removing the cap from the game. Sometimes the removal of the cap could lead to unwanted results (out of sync cutscenes ect.) that is the reason why GOG has introduced the cap at all.

Last but not least: if you want to have the optional removal of the cap officially please vote here:

I just tested the link and it still works without any problems.
However the option you need to change is called "Frame Rate Limiter".

I've added a screenshot for you.

(The screen might look different for you if you use older versions of NVI but the option is still the same)

Thanks for the screenshot!! Don't know why the link isn't working for me, but yay for 60fps of pure mayhem and destruction!

katerinafm: Is there really no way to do the uncapping of the exe file without downloading a file that even chrome is blocking?
download using internet explorer

Since GOG FPS unlock patcher is flagged by so many antivirus software, I decided to recompile adamhm's alternative patcher (originally made for Linux) for Windows.
Hope it helps.

(Thanks to adamhm and Zyankali)
this SR2 FPS unlocker patch is a virus, don't dowload, Defender says that it is infected with Trojan CoinMiner
