Hi. I have a series of questions concerning the DLC's and what they exactly do or about the functionality.

-Does the Moonlight DLC overwrite completely the daylight scenes? I mean, if it is enabled for the whole game turning night time or is it a mix? Is it an "addon" or a "mod"

- Is the Secret Library full of details or spoilers? I mean, Is it interesting to read for historical and story and in deep lore reasons only or is it a hint guide part two?

-With no DLC enabled, when I entered the game the scarab hint guide button is available and aside of an "unlock book of dead ends" banner, the hint features and documents are already functional or available, at least at the beginning. How exactly does it work? is the hint guide already bundled with the vanilla game? If it is, what more the DLC offers?

Amazing Classic, amazing game. and thanks in advance.

Ok. I can answer myself a couple of the questions.

-Like in the old version, when you are in Gil's Tent, there is a bed you can use to sleep. When you awake it is nightime and if you own the DLC you are able to explore the world in nightime with new graphics and with a new music track added. If you do not own the DLC a message will appear advertising that the nightime exloration is not permitted and you are enclosed into the tent, until you sleep again. Interesting.

-Apparently the vanilla game comes bundled with a trial version of the hint book system ingame avaiable for some of the places in the beginning of the game. Just a way to test if you are interested in what it can offer.

-Now my only question is about the Secret Library DLC. If it is lore, history, documents and more story via journals etc, I could be interested. It can enrich the game. My concern is the addition of new clues or some spoilers.

Greetings

Yes, the Secret Library DLC dives deep into not only Gil's life, but never before shared details about the other characters, and even the lives of a few ancient Egyptians who were involved in concealing the "Riddle". Much of this lore existed during the first release, but we chose to not release it at the time. I think you'll enjoy the added insights and rich backdrop it provides. But it is not necessary to solve the game. Have fun!

Thanks for the explanation!
So, is it good to start the game reading the lore even before other clues ingame? or is it better to be deeper into the game? Anyway I must understand for your words that it was expected lore but not added in the original game. So, it could be even recomended in a first playthrough. I guess.

I am concerned with spoilers of some sort because Riddle of the Sphynx is one of past games that I always wanted to play but never had the oporunity to bite completely, and It would be a shame to ruin the experience by myself because of too many spoilers or external clues in my first complete playthrough. Playing for the first time a hardcore, epic, and classic old style adventure like this is a luxury I didn't have in a lot of time. A good summr experience.

Good question! Given the placement of where and when one is able to read Gil's Secret Library (I'm not revealing this), I would definitely think it is an asset to have early as it will surely enhance further gameplay. There are no spoilers, and it provides a richer backdrop. Though, I believe it is also enjoyable to discover later, if that happens to be the course of events. If it were me, I'd want it earlier on.

All clear. Thanks for the answer!
