New development. Instead of trying to open the voodoo set up exe, I decided to run a backwards compatibility troubleshooter and the game works now. It's got at least 2 issues so far: The Mouse cursor does not seem to go away now, and each loading screen minimizes the game window before it's full screen again. Now they are a step up from not even launching but I would like a way to be rid of these issues.

nomousy + a simple batch file fixes the mouse issue - let me know if you need help and I will reply

no fix for the game minimizing briefly, I just live with it

hollenhammer: I got it working in Windows 10 with a combination of the OP and moving the .dll file from the system32 directory over. Sound working fine. Good work OP
When you say sound is working, does that include the music too? If so, you would be one of the few with the music confirmed working in Windows 10...would like to try and get mine working too

Thanks!
What patch file is that and where can I find it? Though personally I've stopped playing it since the game has the game breaking glitch of hiding hostages/enemies outside the map thus making the game unwinnable.

I can't get this game to run at all. There's a RainbowSix.exe running in task manager but I never see a window come up at all. Weird because I installed from disc not too long ago and that version still works fine.

Just saw this reply so apologies for the delayed response.
I never played the game when it was new so I don't really have a frame of reference.
I launched it quickly just then and it seems there's no music (but there is talking and gunfire etc)
it worked ,game launched thanks!!

tjg92: Thanks for the response. I tried deleting that ddraw dll and that didn't seem to do anything. I remember reading somewhere to change winmm.dll to winmm.dll2, so I tried that and now the game seems to work. I still have ddraw.dll deleted and I haven't tried adding it back in to see if that does anything, but maybe I'll try it later. I'll post again later after I've actually played the game a bit to let you know if it's all hunky dory or not. But I managed to wander around a training mission for a bit. :) I'm going to have to do something about the mouse sensitivity, though, because I think mine is at 400 dpi and it felt like 2000 haha

h3adkilla: I'm still not able to launch the game in Windows 10. Could you help me?

saderfer: Hi there,

I own the original Rainbow Six on PC in Retail. But the game is laggy and has a very low fps on windows 8.1.
May I know if the GOG version is ok now?
Grab Raven Shield instead it runs well.

Can somebody explain how to use the dgVoodoo on Windows XP. Or can I use the newer one "dgVoodoo 2" with XP? I tried the old one from 2007 and nothing changes? The textures are constantly flickering and dissapearing. See pic.

now that you guys have it installed, why not come over to Voobly and play online!
Thanks spacekiltro! This seems to have fixed many of the graphical issues I was having, and the anti-aliasing is definitely nice too! This post should be stickied :)
