Thank you! And it's not just the "finalization" process that's keeping the remaster from being put on GOG already, Nightdive are trying to fix some server-related issue with accessing the add-ons for Quake's remaster at the moment and hopefully squish some other bugs before it gets shipped to GOG.

well the enhanced version has new multiplayer. the GOG players are going to miss the entire multiplayer experience, which will probably die out in the next week or so. I'm sure a lot of us who didn't get to play quake online when it first came out would have enjoyed trying it out now.

Won't miss the entire multiplayer experience, People who own the GOG version will be there when it launch...just might not be as many players as Steam launch.

We'll have to see when the gog version comes out (which still sounds like itl be months from now if at all), but i doubt the gog surge will be anything close to the surge of the steam release. and the steam release surge was pretty small.

where is my update to quake ?

Quake Enchanced is DRM game - with SteamClient DRM and Bethesda. It not so fast to make proper build for GOG by bethesda - and then some time additionaly to test it by GOG. GOG is not Valve - GOG will test relseases as well.

And yet, fitst step - making proper build for GOG by bethesda - can last very long. Custom launcher differ than in Steam, i guess.

I'm willing to wait; I bought 7 games during the Summer Sale (one fo them Quake: The Offering) and I've only beaten one of them so far.

It will be worth the wait; if Quakespasm can make Quake that much better to play on modern systems then who knows what the Enhanced update will bring! I'm saving both on my offline storage!
