I actually didn't know until more recently that it made it's way into the demo version. I considered putting it on the soundtrack, but figured it sounded too out of place. Consider this a GOG forum exclusive for now! (unless someone somewhere else requests it) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/19391959/pjazzlessdistort.mp3
also, a hi-res version of the soundtrack is now out at http://bubblepipemedia.bandcamp.com/album/primordia
really liked this demo-version/original version. the drum parts + piano, the sad electronic tones throughout the lyrics section, the electronic ("white noise") sectors solo nearer the end (of the provided 'exclusive' currently track), and of course the bass ^_^
it is more of a lament, that resonated better with me.
when i was playing the demo i remembered trying to boost the volume to figure out the lyrics, and how it fit the scene well exploring the Unniic for the first time and the intro to the game-universe.
for me i liked the 'original/demo' cut of the song in-game better.
i definitely noticed the loss of the drums as a prominent feature of the song in one of the remaining relics of humanity at the end of time.
instead getting the guitar version (drums still there but muted :( ).
thanks much for posting the track and the bandcamp link.
if the demo-cut of the song got a boost of the same electronic treatment (320kbps res - remixed version - drop the power core on the electronica) to make it mesh better with the rest but kept the same vocals/vocalist, the piano, the drums, (no guitar), and sad tone to the piece that would make a great single/b-side to the Primordia soundtrack.
excellent work in any case.
some very memorable game music.
