>The first DLC “The Wildcards” is finally here!

Fun. Gonna play it asap. May be next year
ok guy, here a copy past of my new post for the people who have bookmarked this thread for news, I found a work around, that actually work:

As you all know, owlcat gave us a workaround to make it work, but it doesn't actually work for real.

Owlcat workaround is easy: start a new game, exit it and then your DLC will work. too bad it's just an illusion, you can see the portrait for the tiefling race but you can't actually select the new race or class.

I don't know why but something, somehwere in the main cause the DLC loading to fail, and once it's failed it stay corrup until you close the game, so what we need is a way to force the game to load the game files without interating with any of the main menu screens.

the answer is painfully simple: continue button, I am not trolling, it's as simple as that.

Step by step work around that works, for me it never failed so far to get the DLC working:

STEP 1:Create a new game or load an old playthrough doesn't mater and make a new clean save, the point is to make sure tha save is the newest one.

STEP2: exit the game and start it again

STEP 3: DO NOT CLICK THE NEW GAMES BUTTON or the LOAD GAME BUTTON if you do, the DLC will fail to activate

STEP 4: click the CONTINUE button and NOTHING ELSE, not even setting

STEP5: wait for your game to load, and miracle the DLC is active, now you can go back to the main menu, you will notice your screen is much darker, and now you are allowed to click the new game button and the new race and class will be available

for the devs, if I enter the game with the CONTINUE button then goes back to main menu to start a new game the DLC is active, if I load the exact same save with the LOAD GAME button in the main menue, then exit that save to start a new game, the DLC won't work. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Now that's the kind of reproductability that should help you track down the root of the issue.
That worked for me. Cheers.
is this fixed for anyone yet?
i cant even get the tiefling companion.

Molto bene! Domo arigato. Oui!

Tiefling is a race selection now, and normal config options (e.g. hair styles) is changeable. Looks like exiting, restarting, continuing, and THEN New Game helps.

This worked for me, 100%. My tiefling even has horns! Thanks, JSLfromBx!

EDIT: Spoke too soon. After getting it working, then exiting the game and going back in, it still worked. After exiting and restarting a second time, however, it says "DLC Required" and won't load my save.

I found if you just don't ever press the load button form the main menu you can play the game normally, if you press continue you can then go to the load menu in game and load your dlc required games.
I can confirm that the above solution works. It's a bit counter-intuitive, but I was able to finally run a tiefling character and the game seems to be running fine at the moment.

@frankwebb.704: Have you tried simply using "Continue" (and nothing else) instead of "Load Game"?
When I tried to load the game using "Load game" I did get the "DLC Required" prompt. Using "Continue" and coming back to main menu apparently activated the DLC and allowed me to load the game from the "Load game" menu.
It's bizzare, truly.
At the very least the DLC companion is apparently very much worth it, so I'll take it as a solace.

I decided to just wait, and went back to my old game. However, the next time I returned to my throne room, the tiefling companion appeared! So maybe it *is* working...? Whatever. I'll wait until it's fixed to make my own tiefling/kineticist.

Hello!

Sorry for absence. Now I have info: DLC should work now on GoG. Again, sorry for inconvenience and time it took to fix the issue.

Appears to be working for me as well.
On the Steam forums Wooden Dragon posted this

Information for the GOG users: we've found a solution and are currently uploading the new version with some changes, which should fix the problem. If you don't want to wait, you can manually delete the file GalaxyPeer_default.json This should help.

My game just updated to v1.1.3o

EDIT: Was able to access bonus and tiefling portraits, create a tiefling kinetist and start the prologue without having to perform the workaround. None of my save games are marked "Requires DLC".

EDIT2: On windows 10 with Imperial edition, no mods.
