Jamie.monro: Is there a longer duration between new battles in the PnP version? I could see that being a good reason to keep hasted assault as an option if the time between battles was longer.
It really depends on the situation. Battles certainly can be back-to-back, but more often than not tend to be inter spaced with mundane actions. A very common situation when dealing with human opponents is finding someone who didn't die, tying them up, and then interrogating them after combat (which obviously takes time). At very minimum looting bodies takes time. If there's something in the environment you're interacting with that can take time. If you're fighting outdoors distances tend to be greater since line of sight is greater and the sounds of combat carry audibly for hundreds of feet minimum so if there's another combat encounter nearby they're aware of your presence and are acting accordingly.

The big thing with Hasted Assault is that in pen and paper you can't control who sees who first. If you don't know a fight is coming, you can't be buffed ahead of time, and having Haste active on the first turn without having to blow your standard is huge.

Jamie.monro: I probably need to test this myself. From a recent battle against a Greater Water Elemental (while I was under the effects of Greater Invisibility), every one of my full-round attacks hit the Elemental as if it was Flat-footed, and I got the +2 bonus for concealment. I'm not sure if that is completely normal behaviour in the PnP.
That sounds correct by PnP rules; you were (greater) invisible, so unless they have Blind Fight they are denied their dexterity bonus and you get +2 to hit on all attacks.
