InEffect: Pet/Ranged/Cha/Non-lawful for Makavw

Race: Human

Alignment: NG
Deity: Erastil
Domains: Community+Animal(in that order)
Animal: Leopard/Smilodon/Mastodon

Stats:
Str: 14
Dex: 18 > 22
Con: 12
Int: 7
Wis: 15
Cha: 14

Final Build: Cleric18/Magus(Eldritch Archer) 2

Main skills: Trickery, Persuasion
Suggested secondary skills: Perception

Lvl 1: Cleric - Point-Blank Shot // Precise Shot
Lvl 2: Cleric
Lvl 3: Cleric - Rapid Shot
Lvl 4: Cleric
Lvl 5: Cleric - Boon Companion
Lvl 6: Cleric
Lvl 7: Cleric - Weapon Focus: Longbow
Lvl 8: Cleric
Lvl 9: Cleric - Manyshot
Lvl 10: Cleric
Lvl 11: Cleric - Improved Critical: Longbow
Lvl 12: Cleric
Lvl 13: Cleric - DazzlingDisplay
Lvl 14: Cleric
Lvl 15: Cleric - Shatter Defenses
Lvl 16: Magus
Lvl 17: Magus - Blind Fight
Lvl 18: Cleric
Lvl 19: Cleric - Improved Precise Shot
Lvl 20: Cleric

Important Spells:
Lvl 1: Divine Favor, Shield of Faith, Remove Fear, Bless, Magic Fang
Lvl 2: Barkskin, Find Traps, Restoration(Lesser), +Stat spells(for the pet)
Lvl 3: Animate Dead, Resist Energy(Communal), Delay Poison(Communal), Magical Vestment
Lvl 4: Divine Power, Restoration, Freedom of Movement, Death Ward
Lvl 5: Breath of Life, Angelic Aspect, Cleanse
Lvl 6: Summon Nature’s Ally, Eaglesoul, Hellfire Ray(With Rod of Flaming Vengeance)
Lvl 7: Restoration, Umbral Strike
Lvl 8: Frightful Aspect, Legendary Proportions
LvL9: Mass Heal
Magus: True Strike, cantrips

Gear: Some decent bow(Mirror bow is probably best), Archer bracers, +Stat gear, Ring of circumstances(str/wis/dex/DC), Rod of Flaming vengeance, Absolver cloak, the rest doesn't matter much.

Something useful, Actually has half-decent ranged attack(when buffed, at least), has a pet. Think it qualifies.

Right-click some cantrip when you get magus level2 for an extra attack per round. Umbral Strikes and hellfire rays are nice too. Too bad arrow of law doesn’t work with spellstrike.

Could be gozreh for a few more ray spells, but I prefer having guarded health for the AB bump that he will clearly need sometimes.

Blessing of the faithful, Spell recharge, and a lot of heals are somewhere there in the package, which is not bad, really.

Not unfair material, but it's ok.
Thank you very much :)
Riralt of Gevia for Nysir1991

Race: Human

Alignment: LG or LN(the former is better mechanically, the latter is close to what witchers are about)

Stats:
Str: 18 > 22
Dex: 15 > 16 @4
Con: 14
Int: 12
Wis: 7
Cha: 14

Final Build: Monk(Scaled Fist) 1/ Alchemist(Vivisectionist) 12 / Bard(Archaeologist) 2 / Dragon Disciple 4

Main skills: Mobility 3, Persuasion (Max),
Suggested secondary skills: Perception (Max), Trickery(Spare)

Detailed leveling breakdown:
Lvl 1: Monk - Intimidating Prowess // Combat Reflexes // Crane Style
Lvl 2: Alchemist
Lvl 3: Alchemist - Accomplished Sneak Attacker // Feral Mutagen
Lvl 4: Alchemist
Lvl 5: Monk - Exotic Weapon: Estoc or Bastard Sword // Dodge
Lvl 6: Alchemist - Combat Trick > Outflank
Lvl 7: Alchemist - Weapon Focus: Estoc or Bastard Sword
Lvl 8: Alchemist - Combat trick > Crane Wing
Lvl 9: Alchemist - Dazzling Display
Lvl 10: Alchemist - Combat Trick > Shatter Defenses
Lvl 11: Alchemist - Improved Critical: Estoc or Bastard Sword
Lvl 12: Alchemist - Crippling Strike
Lvl 13: Bard - Crane Riposte
Lvl 14: Dragon Disciple
Lvl 15: Dragon Disciple - Cleave // Power Attack
Lvl 16: Bard - Opportunist
Lvl 17: Alchemist - Cleaving Finish
Lvl 18: Alchemist - Greater Mutagen
Lvl 19: Dragon Disciple - Dreadful Carnage
Lvl 20: Dragon Disciple

Alchemist Spells: True strike, Shield, Restoration(Lesser), Stat spells, Haste, Displacement, Heroism, Echolocation, Greater invis

Bard Spells: Remove fear, Cure Light wounds, Vanish, Mirror Image, Sense Vitals, Glitterdust.

Gear: monk robes, Estoc(Blinding light) or Bastard Sword(Martyr), stat items, AC items, Monk robe

Bastard Swords look closer to what you are looking for, but martyrs blade is much-much worse than blinding light. Pick your poison.

DD is taken to simulate mutations and blood things from the books. Kinky stuff. Also bard will help to simulate signs somewhat. On a practical side: Mirror image is awesome. Also certain witchers always poke around ruins and stuff.

Has loads of AoO’s. Decent AC too. 9d6 sneak attack should help move things along.

Pretty much a less broken trip vivisectionist.

HowlandReed: Hey InEffect, thank you so much for putting together all these builds. I started this game not knowing anything about the Pathfinder system and your posts have become an invaluable resource for me as I learn.

I generally like playing paladin type characters and your "Monkadin" build looks interesting but I noticed it's flagged for a rework. What would you change about it?
Eh... nothing much. He needs a touch of metagame, that's all. So shatter and stuff.
Fixed it.

Looks good, but Char is too high... people blame witchers for everything. Wis is too low, they have alot of knowledge about the open world + monster + alchemy

I have spare str/dex/int points. Something is wrong.

Charisma is not really if you are liked by everyone. Charisma represents the force of personality first and foremost. Being liked or being pretty is mostly a by-product of that, but not mandatory.
Really, it was a choice between Cha and Wis and damn witcher sure is not wise. Did a lot of dumbass things in his days.
As to knowledge skills, think you have spare points there.
Also found a typo. Con should be 14, although you can bump int to 14 if you really want to.

Hey InEffect! Love your builds and tips on the game - thanks for all the hard work you've put in writing up all this! Just started playing this awesome game and your posts are super helpful!
You mentioned somewhere that arcane archer is the best ranged option, or am I wrong? Could you please recommend a ranged build for MC that you consider OP?

I don't really consider ranged builds op, at least for MC they aren't. Main problem is the lack of tanky companions aside from Valerie. And there are times when MC will be forced to fight one on one in the game and it might be a huge pain.
EA is very nice as a 2 level dip. Extra arrow for 2 levels is awesome. As a pure(or mostly pure) class he's rather underwhelming.

There is a slayer build a page or two back. That should do fine. Also a dps ranger can be found in the index on post 1.

Thanks man, will try it out today.
My girlfiriend is also playing the game. She liked Octavia and wants to create a AT based char based on hellfire ray + other ray spells.
Can you help out?

Thank you! I will probably do a vivisectionist build for the MC then, looks like the one you have in your guide is pretty brutal.

that thing does in the ballpark of 1000 damage per turn given everyone is dazzled. Maybe more. Hard to calculate.
