feonix: This shouldn't even be an issue. There has been a real break down between these two companies, and the ones who suffer are the customers who chose GOG over Steam.
Hello Games doesn't communicate? That's a shocker (no, not really)!

If Hello Games doesn't submit the experimental patch then there is nothing GOG can do, which is getting slightly annoying.
At the end of the day, if a developer/publisher chooses to sell their game through certain channels and then only cares about one of those channels enough to push through urgent and broken game fixing patches, that developer/publisher deserves all the hate they get.

If they had chosen to only release on Steam for the first 3 months (or whatever) while they get their game up to scratch before releasing to other channels, fine.. that would be just fine.. but to go and team up with other channels, then ignore channels.. that's not good.

GoG can only put the patch up once they get it and do a quick test on it (so there's no virus or corruption etc).. it's not GoG at fault here.
The patch is on the BETA channel at Steam... once they are done testing it, then you can expect it here as a non-experimental patch. [Public - Stable]

That's the way it works around here.
It's.. also a bit risky to roll out quick-fix updates without really knowing how many people will download it, or whether it's going to work at all, what problems might be with the install, and so on.

Not that it's not possible to solve it by giving people a huge warning when installing it, and requiring people to submit to a specific update branch, and so on. And I think I would have preferred it if gog gave HG the opportunity to submit "nightly build" type updates in a specific branch. And basically warning users that if you submit to this, gog has no support responsibility (along with highlighting where to backup saves, warning that saves might get corrupted and incompatible, etc). Gog could also be clear to HG about not wanting to roll that update out as an official patch - that they are open to having a floaty test-branch build in testing through gog-galaxy for a while, if HG wants it.

But you can probably imagine how problematic that would be for HG, if they have a unified "public build" version that has to be rolled out for ps4 and PC at the same time.

Personally think they should just branch the PC version from the ps4 version right away, though. As soon as possible. And then make the test-branch version permanent. :p To circumvent all the support issues, and using us for test-feedback, instead of releasing a "stable" branch and collecting stale feedback, on a version they have already tested, through their new q&a team. Would be happy to contribute to that until school starts again.
As of 12:00pm GMT there are still no patches on GoG or GoG Galaxy!

Yea nothing on my end at all..... This is just ridiculous
GOG are providing this game on their platform. They would have a contract with Hello Games, and that contract would stipulate terms like, say, HG must provide a game that works, and provide customers with an equal product that those on steam are receiving. If this is not the case, if we have purchased a different game, or we are not going to receive updates like the Steam version, then this should have been made clear to customers. It's not like PC vs Console, the staggering of content and different updates for different hardware etc.
The Steam and GOG versions should be the same. there is some sort of bullshit happening that is stopping the content reaching us, and I suspect it is both parties at fault. the problem is, one party, Hello Games, doesn't give a fuck, and the other, GOG, in my opinion, is fucking things up and doesn't know what to do/how to handle the situation.
I know one thing though, they haven't communicated enough with their customers, and the longer this drags out the more their reputation is going to drop.
I saved a little money by getting it here at GOG

It is lucky for me that I have no problems running the game as is but if this is the way it goes with updates,
in the future I may just pay the extra $ and get on steam.

Yeah it was cheaper, maybe that was the deal. "You get it cheaper, but we help Valve first, got it? Ha ha all those suckers using Galaxy!" *bashful Sean Murray grin...

I am playing it. I like it, and I am enjoying the progress/exploration. I had an option , but there are people who don't.. that is why I am still here, being the loud voice for them. That.. and,. I am going to go back to my old quad ASAP, because it still handles everything better than the newer dual core, OC'd to 4ghz.
I love how everyone attacks people with older gear. There is a beauty to hardware, pushing it to it's full potential is a hobby. Like with vintage cars, there are some made better than others and they share the roads with modern vehicles.

Some of you just wouldn't get it..
Another disappointing start of a day
I mistakenly bougt this on GOG assuming I was getting a steam key. When I realized I wasn't I figuredd things would go this way, which they did. Not only do we not get the patches, but if they become available on galaxy and not manually I won't be able to download them, as galaxy continues to give me configuration error whenever I try to install, or even if I install manually and tell it to scan for install games.

No answer of course from support. Spent hours trying to get galaxy to work.
Absolutely pathetic.

How long have steam had the experimental patch now?

I won't be making the mistake of buying anything through GOG again.

You have 30 days to refund, yes thirty. Just refund and buy it on Steam. GOG has always lagged behind on updates, always.

It's like Google Play Store versus Amazon App store, Amazon is almost always a few days to two weeks behind in one personal case(PE Minecraft).

B0SC0: Quick update on the beta branch guys - Hello Games have access now and are currently working on the update, but it hasn't been deployed as of yet. We're working with them to have something ready by the end of the day today :).

Thanks for your patience, and once again, my apologies for the delay!
It has been more than 24 hours since this post with no other comment, and only removal of even the empty beta branch as any indication there is life from HelloGames and GOG.

3rd BUSINESS Day on that side of the pond has come to a conclusion and still nothing. No patches, no real communication.

Given both companies are on that side of the pond this is very disappointing now.

GOG really needs to step the game up here with their partners as right now they are absolutely 100% failing at 'trying their hardest' when they have not negotiated to get the developers/publishers to use the equivalent functionality on GOG as Steam to provide equal levels of service. No one is asking for anything special here, the same level of service using the similar functionality between both services.
If everyone get a refund from GOG maybe the studio will get the message. At 70€ each copy...

Playtime total or not, I am very close to it at this point. The product is not as advertised, and no amount of support will fix that. Then to be given second class level support as well is just thumbing noses at us.

Going to see what the next 4.5-7.5 hours bring (i.e even though both companies on that side of the pond, see what they do by end of business day for the Americas.
