After reaching Act 3 of NWN2, I come back to Crossroad Keep only to find that when I try leaving with Ammon Jerro in my party, he vanishes completely. I cannot find him in the basement, and though his name is shown in the party list adding him does nothing other than remove his name.

From what I've read, I can try looking up save files and checking files there by removing the party member files, saving without them, then re-adding their files but this doesn't work as Ammon Jerro isn't located there either. I'm unsure of what I can do since it seems a lot of the resources for NWN2 died along with the IGN dedicated resources I've found through google.

FIXED: Check my latest post for the solution.

It's part of the story -- do your homework instead of throwing accusations around. In act 3, once you tell Sir Nevalle that the keep is ready, Jerro disappears -- Bishop should offer to track him down.

Except for when I playback through the Ammon jerro Haven, reach the Inn, and have no cutscene featuring Jerro at all. It just drops me in without talking about Shandras death at all, or Jerro joining the group. Now I have to go back even further, 2 hours precisely from the 2 hours I was already back when I realized that Jerro should have been able to join the group by now.

Also, telling Nevalle the keep is ready is about halfway through Act 3 I believe, not the start at all.
So, after taking the time to play-through the 4 previous hours of gameplay I discover that no matter what I do Ammon Jerro is not working as intended, i get no cutscene in the Inn before Act 3, and I can only assume that because of this he will not be available at all for the third act.

This is disappointing that GoG would include such a broken game in their catalog, and a disappointment that there exist no unofficial patches to fix the myriad issues that have plagued this game since release. I'm done trying to play this game that so obviously does not want to be played, and I recommend to anyone who does not wish to risk investing many hours only to lose them to something that should have been fixed years ago.

Honestly, this is killing my urge to continue playing. As fun as it is running into constant bugs that set me back hours, constantly making any game-play a mess of AI and simple pathing (NOT TO MENTION the complete lack of proper feedback since Obsidian never thought to finish their game or update and fix it), if I am expected to reset hours to find an uncorrupted save file I'll be looking for a refund.
honestly I have no idea what are you talking about played trough the game several times(GoG version) and not once did I get this bug :/ also try using the debug menu add then type "rs ga_roster_party_add(#name)" without the quotes and see if it works for you

Well, I've tried adding him via console commands and although his name shows up as usual and i can toggle his availability as a NPC/ Companion, if I try to add him it just makes his name vanish. I have no idea why this is the case, all I know is that I wasted hours just to end up disappointed.

So why blame GOG? Tens of thousands of people play NWN2 from GOG, and I've never seen this 'bug' reported before.

Because they host the game in the first place? People not running into this issue is not a reassuring thing for someone who does have this problem, plus there ARE people who run into plenty of other issues that are tied to the game itself admittedly. BUT I think that if you buy any game and run into these issues and find that you can't resolve them you have the right to demand a refund.

Direct your ire at the developers, not the retail outlet.

Request denied.
Maybe you should try the most desperate maneuver: Uninstall everything (including saves), delete the folder, download (again) the installers and reinstall the game.

As WingsOfRequiem stated, your bug is almost unique, so maybe the problem come from another point.

Another alternative, is getting a savepoint from other player with Jerro in the Party, if he appears in your setting, then was a epical bug in your session and a single new campaign should solved, otherwise, the desperate maneuver should help.

well 1st let try to detect the issue. Did you install any mods or configured any files? If you have start by removing those first and see what happens. I will try to think more on this and see if I can figure your issue out

Nvm I GOT IT ^^

Do this

DebugMode 1
rs ga_roster_selectable("ammon", 0)
rs ga_roster_compaignnpc("ammon", 0)
DebugMode 0

This should remove Ammon from being choice for party selection which will trigger the Find Ammon Jerro at the farm quest correctly

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, even redownloading the game files in case something corrupted during the download but it happened again so i'm thinking that my save must be corrupted somehow. As for trying from another save with Jerro already in, I don't suppose you have a spare save available do you?
Fixed my problem! Turns out my save file was missing AmmonJerro's .ros file, which I replaced by going to my first save file and replacing the Ammon.ros file in my later saves. Thanks to everyone who helped me, and my advice for anyone playing NWN2 is to keep a save file from the start of the game handy.
