Whenever I attempt to run the game I get the following error message:
MM6.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (oxc0150002).
I'm having this problem running in vista 64, I've already tried running as administrator and various compatibility modes and a quick google search told me nothing useful. Any ideas on where to even begin?

OK. I downloaded the patch. How do I install it? I'm running xp pro Thanks!
If you mean GrayFace's patch for MM6, just extract the contents of the .rar file (wint winrar or 7zip) and then run the MM6 Patch v1.10.exe file. I assume it will either ask you for the location of the MM6 folder or it will detect the location of the game folder on its own.
Thanks!

Hey there, I installed the patch but can't get the music to work. I've already tried troubleshooting on some other topics but can't get it to work. Whenever I try to edit the .ini file (I suppose that's what it is) to get the mp3 music to play I try and save the settings but it constantly says "access is denied" for no reason whatsoever, and I can't get the music to play by copying the sounds folder and renaming it as the "music" folder. Can anyone help with this?

Quickest way is to save a copy outside of the Program Files folder, like say on your desktop, instead of trying to just overwrite the file. And then just cut and paste from the desktop into the folder.

"acess denied" meaning is doesn't let you save the changes to the .ini file ?
If that's it and you're on Vista or Win7, move the .ini file to your desktop, edit it there, save it, and then place it back in the game folder

Actually, it was a flying squirrel, which is far superior to a ninja in nearly every way.

Haha, this is cool. I moved the .ini file onto the desktop, changed the play mp3 setting to 1, and then moved it back to where it was. It allows me to skip the intro amazingly (which I was having problems with trying to do) but even with the sounds file copied as music (so I have both a sounds and music folder) I can't seem to get the music working properly. The first few times I played at least the menu music worked, but now that doesn't either. Are there any other settings I need to tweek, such as run as administrator? And yes I'm running on Windows 7 with the latest 1.10 patch.

Btw I just tried running it as an adminstrator but then it didn't allow me to skip the intro anymore, :(

I really don't know what could be wrong there. I don't have the patch in question installed but according to the posts in the other thread changing the PlayMP3 value to 1 in the .ini and duplicating the Sounds folder and renaming it Music should get the sound working.
If the only reason for installing the patch was the 'skip intro' problem, maybe you could try uninstalling the game and reistalling it outside the Program Files folder (something like C:\Games) to see if you still need the patch.

Nah, the main reason that I installed the patch was just because its supposed to help with bug fixes and stuff, and allows you to auto-run without using the shift key. I thought you'd be able to skip the intro with or without the patch, I played MM6 on an XP machine before with no problems (the Might & Magic millenium edition version).
