Okay, might as well add my voice to the crowd. I'm having the same problem, and if you go south of Ligano, then east (when you can), you apparently cross into that same tile and end up in that forest with the rest of the world having disappeared or changed.

I wonder if that patch would work on the GOG version, if we can find the patch.

For some reason, when I played this before off of CD, I didn't have this problem, but I never got far enough in the game to run into that other similar problem mentioned above.

Edit: I sent them a support request of my own, with screen captures attached, last Saturday. No word yet from them, but, hopefully something will come of it.

Edit 2 (June 28, 2011) I got an email requesting saved game files, so I sent them. Sounds like they're actually working on this.

i send a ticket a couple of days ago and i was assured that they're on it and soon there will be a solution
actually if you try the old patch it won't work, since it needs version 1.00 of the game and the gog version is 1.01 (i think that was the cd version as well, but since that was back in 1998 i can't say i'm sure)

They have said they are going to fix it "soon" for a long time now. I have been seeing people have this problem for over a year, and I have seen people from the company saying they will fix it for over a year...

I just want to see them fix it already. It looks like a great game, and I want to play it, but... well, add the patched version already!

Definitely a good game; one of my favorites growing up. So sad that new players can't enjoy it.

I've been checking back every couple days for about half a year to see if they have put up the patched version like they said they would. I've stopped purchasing from them until it is patched. I would rather purchase working games from a different company.

Please don't buy this until they patch it. Please post on the forum (or better yet send them an email) requesting the patched version.

Edit: Ok, 4 months. :P Ever since I joined GOG in any case.

Maybe if someone has the original cds, can install the game, apply the patch and see which files it changes/adds so he can make a zip an upload them
or if someone has the original exe upload that one and we can all apply the patch (and then some crack)

As far as I know, they added cracked versions to some of the other games they are selling, so it wouldn't be new if something like that was done for this game.

A fan made patch to fix this version would be great though. At least those that bought it would be able to play through it finally.

I also ran into this problem. I spent a few hours finding my original CDs, installing Windows 3.1 in a VM, and continuing from my saved game and sure enough the Temple of Henne is there.

I saved in two places, once close to the temple before I got blessed and one in Ligano after I got blessed and moved these save files back to the GOG version. When loading the first save file, I ended up in the strange "meadow with a chasm" area. When loading the second save file, I was in Ligano and the blessing still worked for me to finish the subquest.

Unfortunately the save file format is beyond me, and I'm not too sure finding the differences between two save files would be very easy.

does anybody not experience this glitch? can the game be completed anyways?

I was about to buy this game, but I read all your imormative posts and decided against it. Thanks all, you saved me from wasting $3.

Betrayal at Antara has been broken since they added it to the pack, but Betrayal in Krondor by itself is well worth the price.
