theSkillfull1: Why haven't we seen a release of QUEST FOR GLORY by now? It is almost impossible to get them to work on modern-day PC's (aside from the one freeware remake of part 2). I've already bought all the Space Quests' and Kings Quests' from GOG and Steam, now I'd like to get the best of them all, the QFG series!
Is Activision the one holding this up?

From my experience, they all run fine on a Windows 7 64-bit system using DOSBox for 1-4 and QuickTime Alternative for part 5.
I'd love to see Quest for Glory released as well.
Love the series on King's Quest. Such nostalgia! Keep it up!
Thanks for the great article, David. I played the King's Quest series as a child, and they were what taught me how to type. (And Space Quest taught me the futility of playing slot machines without a real life save game mechanic..)
The point about the tension in KQ3 is so true. I remember vividly the huge feeling of relief when the wizard finally ate that cat cookie. I'm looking forward to reading more!
Man, these articles are really really really good. I haven't played any King's Quest game (I've played a bit with KQV, but it was a brief experience), but reading this stuff really makes me want to play the whole series. Congratulations, it really is a nice article.
I was waiting for KQ 1, 2 and 3 (and you've made KQ3 seem particularly good), but now I'm so pumped up about playing these games that I'll probably buy 4, 5 and 6 and keep praying for 1, 2 and 3.
