Thank you sooooo much timeslip, I went from not being able to play the game at all to it running perfectly with this trick and running as administrator! Never noticed any performance or UI issues except when examining items in inventory the text would flicker but it was still readable. I can't thank you enough for coming up with this wonderful workaround.
I also had the saving/loading issue that some other people have reported, but I found that by starting a new game I could load from there and it would load my data perfectly, just seemed to be an issue with the main menu.
anvilsmith: The issue here is that Journeyman Project 3 does not have a windowed mode. If it did, it might actually run flawlessly. I am not sure how to force software to run in windowed mode on windows 7, however.
timeslip: The GOG version does. Hit win+r to open the run dialog, and type %APPDATA%. That should open windows explorer. If there's not already a folder in there called GOG create one, and inside that create one called JourneymanProject3. Inside there create a file called 'config.ini', and into that type:
[Video]
Windowed=1
Hasn't really been tested at all (it was just a debugging aid for me while I was poking at it,) so it might cause other problems. At the least, the mouse behaves a bit weirdly towards the edges of the window, but not in a game breaking way. I'm not convinced it would help the videos, but if it does then great.
