The gog version of this game is in a bad shape and devs need to act NOW! (I made this a new thread for several reasons.)
One or more patches are missing. Which ones is hard to tell because the patch notes seem to be completely wrong.

According to them the last patch for gog version was V1.2.20 on June 23 2017 this would put us something like 3 patches and several features important features behind the steam version.
This can be seen in the patch notes on the games page in every owners library and in the forum:
https://www.gog.com/forum/inner_chains/changelog the last post doesn’t have an “edited”marker which would make V1.2.20 very old indeed!

On the other hand some later posts here and on steam make even V1.2.0 seem to be much newer that that. For example alexmocanu claims the game was on V1.2.0 on July 13: https://www.gog.com/forum/inner_chains/what_about_the_latest_patch

With that in mind what CM / Devs say on the steam forum almost makes sense. They claim V1.2.20 on gog is the same as V2.2 on steam. This would make the gog Version not very old but not up to date either, but the patch notes for those newer patches would be missing entirely.

We cannot know what state the gog version is in because everything is a total mess!!!
Some patch notes are definitely missing, some dates are definitely wrong and at least one patch is definitely missing, because steam players can rebind keys since july 20 and we still can’t!!!!

Maybe I didn’t find everything, but the community shouldn’t have research this at all. THE DEVS SHOULD JUST FIX IT!!!!!!

I gave this game a very good review because I loved it but the hassle and the frustration with this developer is mind blowing!!!

The community manager for steam is not the same as for gog. He is giving them messages but it is better we post here. I know nobody ever answers, but devs and gog staff need to see complaints here on gog!

Because this matter is still high up in two forums and people are still reading this I want to follow up and clarify:

On July 31 the GOG Version has received a patch called 2.2 with the combined patch notes of the missing steam patches like “Added new priest and zombie animations” and much more from the steam patch of June 28 or “changing the key binding option” and more from the steam patch of July 20.

This means the following:
-both versions are now identical (to the best of my knowledge)
-Both versions are now in a very enjoyable state (in my opinion). Even if future patches might be late for GOG, I think new players should not concern themselves with this too much and gog players who uninstalled should play now!
-GOG Version was almost 5 weeks behind on important performance fixes and comfort stuff like new Animations and 11 days behind on the very important keybinding option.
-The patch notes on GOG were not wrong. Patches were not sent to GOG and steam at the same time and 1.2.20 was not the same as steam 2.2 as Tom was apparently told by the Devs.

This wouldn’t have been so serious if the game had been released in a better condition. Withholding some of those features made playing the game noticeably less enjoyable for GOG players.
But bluntly lying to the community and pretending to have patched is even worse!
Please don’t do that again!!!

I will still buy their next game if I like it because no one else makes this kind of games but I will buy it weeks after release and I will definitely not back them again because trust is lost.
