The purchase was a no-brainer. The only problem I've got is that on my 1920x1080 monitor, the game image doesn't scale at all - it just occupies a small square in the middle of the screen. This happens even if I use the compatibility settings to set the screen to 640x480.
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, a GeForce GTX 275 card with the latest WHQL drivers, and I've made no modifications to the I-War files. Could it be a problem with the Glide wrapper?

As a question, which dgVoodoo 1.5 beta version did you use? The first or the more recent one?

smedstadc: It's been a few days since I posted and I haven't had any further crashes from Bink movies. I think they might have been the result of me playing with the bit-depth and forgetting to fix the setting when I was finished. (I was trying to avoid too much monitor mode switching).

Currently everything is running well with dgVoodoo 1.5 beta on Win7 64-bit with a Radeon 4870 and Catalyst 10.4.
Smedstadc, f you by any chance read this thread again, can you post your dgVoodo settings? I've been playing around with them, but I'd like to start with a known, stable Win7 x64 setup.

Thanks!

Hi Buatha,

It's been a while but, if I remember correctly the problem was that I changed the bit depth to match my desktop settings so that I wouldn't have to switch between 32-bit and 16-bit monitor modes when I played but, it turned out that leaving the setting at the default of 16-bit was more stable. I'm fairly certain the only setting that was safe to tweak much was the screen resolution.
Thanks, man.

Sadly, I have given up on dgVoodoo for I-War. No matter what settings or options I choose, it eventually crashes...even with a section that would previously run flawlessly.
I solved this problem by going to my graphics card driver(not my display driver), selecting graphics options, panel fit and then scale full screen. Hope that helps you :-). Also PreachyPreach's solution AND right clicking IWAR shortcut, select properties, compat. mode, run as admin and Windows 98/Me. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a Compaq laptop with a Celeron processor at 2.20 Ghz. with 2 gig of mem. with an Intel chipset.

Hi all am running a hp dv6 quad core 2.2ghz system win 7 64 bit with radeon graphics card and was having the same scaling issues , tried the compat tweak from the properties menu straight out after reading all the posts here and especially that one by Randall415 and turned out too be the only thing i needed to do to have iwar running perfectly from the get go with out having to mess with indepth program line changes. cheers all
Windows 7, 64 bit operating system

First started up IWAR, was having issues. Namely, couldn't move my mouse curser to the bottom left corner of the screen.

Came on here, saw thread.

Performed the high_resolution = 1 fix and simultaneously set the shortcut to run in compatability mode for 98/me and run at the fixed, lower resolution.

All issues resolved, game is running fine now.

Thanks forum people!

neosapian: this is an old topic, but it is still a problem for me, I tried all of these solutions including the high_resolution =1 and setting compatibility to 98/me and a fixed resolution of 640x480 but my IWar game still limits where my mouse cursor can go and I still can't get it to go tothe right side of the screen, But not all the time, just some of the time, especially when I finish a mission but not always after the opening movie.
You need to set your desktop resolution bit depth to 16-bit (from 32-bit) and you will have full range of movement with your mouse.

neosapian: I tried doing that I also rebooted after setting it to 16 bit but my cursor still only goes to one side of the screen sometimes.
thank you for responding anyway! :)
I don't think you need to reboot, just do the 16 bit from 32 bit colour depth change on the desktop settings tab. It sounds weird that you get the issue 'sometimes'? Mine is either i get it because i forgot to do that change or it works fine all through the game after the change.

It sounds like something is 'fighting' your configuration if it is that temperamental for you? maybe a setting on your graphics card? Are you forcing something via a game profile on your GPU settings perhaps?

Good luck and hope you work it out eventually as it is a great game (hard, but great).

neosapian: I have no trouble controlling the ship with my keypad or using commands on the keyboard, but the mouse acts strange and I can't click on dialogue responses or hit the little red "back" arrow to go back a screen.
Wait, you are not in fact using a joystick? I highly recommend to use one. I don't remember off the top of my head if I-War allows for the mouse cursor to be controlled with the joystick, but it's worth a try. Also, which Glide (Voodoo) wrapper do you use?

neosapian: the glide wrapper is the one that comes with the GOG version of the game and is automatically installed.
Please check nGlide's version number. The latest version is 1.02, you find it at "www zeus-software com". I do have an ATI card (HD6950), and I-War works flawlessly.
