I know this was a long time ago, but I had the same issue until today when I found a fix elsewhere in these forums.
If you're still around, and are still having this problem (or if anyone else who's reading this is, who's also using an NVIDIA GTX video card - mine's a GTX-980 but this should for work for most or all models, I think?), Down Load the following file (at the very end of my message). Extract the contents, open ONLY the "MS" folder, copy these two dll files (D3DImm,dll & DDraw.dll) and paste them into the Incoming Folder (the root Incoming folder - which is inside the main GOG folder). This is all I did and things look as they should now. BTW, Ignore all of the other stuff in the D/L as it's for AMD video card issues, which you can read about here (which is the same place where I found and got the files for our GTX cards):
https://www.gog.com/forum/incoming_incoming_forces/incoming_tweak_guide_higher_resolution_43_display_scaling_amd_createsurface_error_nvidia

This is the Link for the dll files to D/L:

I tried this solution and unfortunately, the game only started with a black screen. I had menu music and sounds of changing options, but no video, aside from a dgVoodoo watermark in the corner.

However then I tried a workaround from topic "Black Screen on Launch" (GOG seems to be mentally challenged and won't let me post links for some bizarre reason).

That is, moving the Incoming folder directly into C: drive (so as it's C:\Incoming). Now it works with dgVoodoo and there are no issues.
