Gotten to possibly my favourite area in the game, the Severed Hand (it looks gorgeous!), and just fought Kaylessa. I recall this being one of the spots where you get either this or that, so after picking up two fairly lousy items, I checked it out.
Obviously big-time spoilers...

According to that site you're supposed to get, in addition to Boots of Speed, either Kaylessa's Bow OR Kaylessa's Gloves. Both look pretty decent, although I'd prefer the gloves as our two archers already have excellent bows. However, what I ended up with was a useless +15% stealth ring that only rangers can use.
What gives?

*edit* Actually, the random drop may be set before you first talk to her, which would be highly inconvenient. Can't recall now for sure.

Have you got that code at the ready? Anything else I need to do to enable the cheat console?
I'll feel dirty now, and may need a shower afterwards :D

Yes, you're right Coelocanth, it shouldn't be a big deal really, but I still feel a bit bad about it.
Btw, I needed to add "Cheats=1" in the .ini file, though I didn't try if it worked without it to be fair.
Not overwhelmed by its power, I must say; 1 better AC in exchange for 1 worse saving throw. This is why I often end up with non-magical armour and rings or other magical items instead, which lowers saving throws. I find it's usually better than slightly better AC, especially as the game goes on and you are faced with more magic casters. The cold resistance can come in handy, though.

The big advantage of the chain is that thieves can still do their thieving in it and mages/bards can cast in it. It's awesome armor for those classes.

Mages, you say? Hadn't thought of that, didn't know it was Elvish chainmail. Would be a very good fit for the Fighter/Mage then. I'll try that :)

It is elven chain. Chainmail which allows casting spells while wearing it. Pure class mages or druids can't wear chain but multiclass mages or bards can cast spells while wearing it.

Why the hair-splitting? Other than the +1 DEX bonus on Kaylessa's chain, it functions almost identically to the Elven Chainmail of the Hand, which is elven chain. Besides, Kaylessa's an Elf, so it's not too much of a stretch to conclude her chain is elven chain. As far as the game mechanics are concerned it makes no difference.
