Keith_I2: I have the honor of owning the most expensive and unplayable PC game !
Contact support and get a refund, they are really good about that sort of stuff... might take a few days but they should come though. Sorry about it not working, its really a fantastic game... should drop in price steadily overtime. If you're looking to spend $800 or less you can get a nice G series laptop from Dell with a modern CPU/GPU and that could set you up for awhile, just get a cooling mat. Could also just buy a base computer and use what you have already. iBuyPower PC's are not that bad anymore and sub $700 can get you a fantastic computer that will last a long time. the Trace 4 9310 is a solid deal at the price.

qwixter: I am not sure, but I think I will wait for a deep discount. It seems too close to Farcry Primal, and that had me just wishing for a gun the entire time.
Well yes, it's pretty much Far Cry Primal meets Tomb Raider, clearly some other influences too of games released since.

The storyline mix of stoneage tech and machines actually really works, the gameplay/combat really works, the cutscenes are amazing (possibly the best faces I've seen on PC yet).

But if you dislike bows as primary weapon and want a fast-shooting gun, this isn't for you. Which I think is a shame because there's a really impressive, immersive and entertaining game with very high production values here.

In the gog stream I watched, the bow didn't seem as bad farcry primal's bow with the arching of shots. I didn't know anything about the game or story, so the robo critters really caught me off guard given the prehistoric setting. As the streamer walked by the harvestable plants, my OCD went nuts. Must collect everything.
OK. Turning off Vsync fixes any kind of stutter. Just set maximum FPS somewhere below your monitor refresh and it's smooth as silk.

I've tried this on a laptop with 940m (960x540 low - 20-23FPS), laptop with 970m (720p - Med 40-45fps), laptop with 1070 (1080p - High 45-50 fps) and desktop with 1080 Ti (3440x1440 Ultra - 60-70 FPS) and performance is smooth as silk.

This is all with GOG version which is latest 1.08.

Anyone who says otherwise has something strange going on. This game runs fine.

Starkrun: For anyone curious they fixed most (if not all) of the problems, its one of the best games you'll ever play in your life. The story, the fighting, the balance between action and exploration is perfect. And the difficulty is really well done, no extreme spikes at any point in the game.... well, except in the frozen north DLC, I recommend doing that AFTER the main story. Don't worry you can go back play how you want or do prior to the point of no return which you will know about.

I dropped 40 hours in the game and didnt even do half of the side content, never officially started the DLC beyond exploration either so there is a lot of game here and worth the price, whatever it may be.
Hi Starkrun....

Your statement is downright questionable to the basis of being highly partial, without providing your configuration and any video proof.
Furthermore you are ignoring the fact that 99% percent of the configurations running the game still have proven critical issues, so it is also misleading.
Taking these into account, it should be dismissed, casting substantially serious doubts on the altruistic motive of providing it, in such a manner and timing.

Kind of idiotic to require proof that a game worked fine for 40 hours. Are you going to watch all 40 hours of it? Then you pull a "99%" statistic from your ass.

Fix your toaster and stop being so crazy.
I think this game runs quite well I have over 70 hours in it and only 3 crashes to desktop, I am running old video card drivers too, from 9/25/2019 and widows has not been updated in over 10 months.

So while I have seen a few visiual glitches, it runs quite well, and most settings are on ultra.

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
RAM: 3.2Ghz 32GB
HDD: 7200 RPM
PageFile: on 2/4 drives
GPU: 2070 RTX
REZ: 1440p Gsync
OS: Latest Windows 10 fully patched
Hardware GPU Scheduling: OFF

Ran it on 446.14 Nvidia drivers I believe.

Not a single crash ever and I was maxed out, no hitching no glitching nothing that made me question its stability. By the 2nd patch they fixed most of the bigger issues.

While I run instant replay for games to grab shots I didn't record this game outright but I do have a dedicated video hard drive for video. So it was recording the entire time I just never triggered any captures but a few times on some of the larger fights.

Fun Fact: I have fixed a toaster, had to swap out the middle filaments in my grandmas back in the day.

For real though, this was easily the greatest game I ever played.... Twice now, once on PS4 and again on PC. Never did the DLC on console either :)
Agreed ! This version on PC is really the GOTY version (and I played on PS4 Pro before this one...) .
Too bad I can't use my saves from PS4... i finished the game twice and I have the best armor in the game ....
