For anyone curious they fixed most (if not all) of the problems, its one of the best games you'll ever play in your life. The story, the fighting, the balance between action and exploration is perfect. And the difficulty is really well done, no extreme spikes at any point in the game.... well, except in the frozen north DLC, I recommend doing that AFTER the main story. Don't worry you can go back play how you want or do prior to the point of no return which you will know about.

I dropped 40 hours in the game and didnt even do half of the side content, never officially started the DLC beyond exploration either so there is a lot of game here and worth the price, whatever it may be.

Thanks for the info.
can confirm, about 100 hours into the game(main game about 60% done, frozen north about 40%),no crashes, tons of quests. You should play the frozen north DLC after finishing at least 50%of the main game, the difficulty level is higher.Even if it`s full price,it`s worth it.
Thanks guys, I was just looking to find out if the GOG version is fully patched and "ready to go", or if the base game still has problems since it's less than stellar release.
Regardless, we shouldn't encourage this type of pricing. The game is an old game. Either launch with a discount or lower the base price. But even CONTROL launched that high. This is rediculous people. Don't support this, in grateful it came to GOG but not about to shell out that type of Cash for this.

I'm sure Sony set the price. It costs $50 still at Steam and Epic Games. I wouldn't expect a price drop for at least a few months. Otherwise GOG will be doing a lot of price matching with their 30 day return guarantee.
I see people posting about a W10 update for GPU scheduling making it run even better, can anyone here speak to this?

I said repeatedly that I would be willing to pay a higher price if I do not have to stay online, am not tracked and can share the game with friends.

I completely understand your reasoning. But playing DRM free has obviously become a luxury reserved for the affluent citizens of night city ;) And for those who are lucky enough to have them as their friends.

Both came out to stellar torrent releases and there was massive interest once they were cracked. Majority said (on the forums) they would have bought them DRM free but there was no option so they decided to torrent them. Shortly after the seeds cooled off they appear here. Its funny, these "companies" willing to suck all the money form us could have gotten triple the income if they beat the pirates to a DRM free release.

Following the releases here and the releases on torrents is funny, usually only takes a few months from a massive scene release to see it come here on GOG.com

I keep mine off but recently the new patches in 10 has made it better for "my specific config" over all its a godsend for nearly all users! https://uploadvr.com/hardware-accelerated-gpu-scheduling/

What about the goofy camera? I head a lot of people complaining that the camera just starts to do it's own thing and pan off to the side. Did they fix that in this release?

Went and grabbed that update just incase, the game runs pretty well, did some benchmark results

I think some people will see high cpu usage in the beginning, its doing a shader compilation at the start and will do so in the main menu until its satisfied.

Wait for the sale, numerous games older than this 2017 game is priced higher than its current price(Witcher 3 for instance), all things considered its a pretty fair price for a newly ported game to PC thats still being worked on.

My installation, from off line files from GOG, will not start. Double clicking on the desktop icon does nothing. Some posts on Steam blames it on the patch 1.08 for some systems.

I did everything I could think of: marked HorizonZeroDawn.exe as an exception in my antivirus. Dxdiag found nothing wrong.

I own a total of 29 GOG games and they all work just fine except HZD which will not start. Hell, I even installed the game with cloud which also failed to start the game.

I guess I'm stuck with waiting for another patch!

FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening i dont think is supported on you card... its an older AMD, maybe manually turn that off? It also requires a CPU with AVX instruction, but a work around was installed for it thats sort of glitchy and can your GPU run DX12?

Edit: Aye never mind patch dropped 23h hours ago for this very issue: Did GOG get the 1.08.6 update?

Oh DARN!
Yes, I'm running dx12. I've always wondered when my video card would conflict with a game. Turning things off? Don't guess it would hurt to try. thanks

Don't see any patch yet. Went to the link you posted but didn't see where to download 1.08.6

To be clear, my game doesn't crash on startup, absolutely nothing happens after double clicking the desktop icon and not after selecting it and hitting enter. But who knows, maybe the patch will work.

I just did an online test (failed both video card and processor) of my system: in order to play this $50 game, it's recommended that I get a more powerful video card (cheapest that would work about $200) and essentially a new PC (about $800).

I have the honor of owning the most expensive and unplayable PC game !

As far as the story goes, I watched a gog stream yesterday for about 20 minutes, and it seemed pretty silly to me. It looks like the main character was fighting robot animals with a bow and arrow. Then the game play looked like a homogeneous pile from tomb raider and farcry or AC.

I am not sure, but I think I will wait for a deep discount. It seems too close to Farcry Primal, and that had me just wishing for a gun the entire time.
