I've found that launching Languagesetup executable in Homeworld folder and selecting the appropriate language solve this problem.


Well at least Access Violation problem disapeared after that.... not the rest of the bugs and crashes...

Had the same Problem here.
The "access violation error window" seems to be a problem with windows user rights. As an user with standard rights you can't start the game without the known error message.
I started the game with an administrator rights user and voila, it worked properly for me. Maybe you can also work with the "run as administrator" on some specific exe files of the game but I didn't tested it so far. Feel free to do so and let me know.
