Hello, just installed HoMM2 on my new laptop with Windows 7. The problem is that the game launches fine but it is only a small percentage of the screen in the middle. Is there any method to make it full screen? Thanks!

Qbix: set the output to opengl or ddraw
and fullresolution to 0x0
aspect=true if you like it
I just did this and when I run the game I hear the audio but have no video - just a blank black screen. Help pls :)

Try a different output=
On Windows 8, using a TF810C tablet, I have some additional hints.

opengl caused the game to struggle, switching to ddraw made it run smooth

however, with resolution as 0x0 and ddraw as output, it came out windowed and small. changing the resolution to 1024x768 fixed that, and the game runs great. Hope this helps.
I've tried all those thing but I still have two black lines at both sides. I have windows 7 64 bits, any suggestions please? On the other hand, I don't see the option "fullfixed"

thanks.

Have this as the dosboxhomm2_single.conf

[IPX]
Enable=0
Connection=0
ipx=false

[sdl]
fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=1024x768
windowresolution=original
output=ddraw
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map
usescancodes=true

[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.

@ECHO OFF
cls
mount C ".."
imgmount d "..\homm2.inst" -t iso -fs iso
c:
cls
heroes2.exe
exit
I can't figure this out.

I've tried every possible solution posted here and I'm still only getting a square game display in the center of my laptop screen. It's pretty bogus.

Hey! where do i do that?

I installed it in a new pc. I did that before in the old one and it worked but i dont remember where or how i did it.
If it's the original game and not the freeheroes mod, you can make the game full screen by clicking alt-enter (or ctrl-enter)

edit: Well, I somehow missed the first page and failed to notice this was already mentioned
