Hello, just installed HoMM2 on my new laptop with Windows 7. The problem is that the game launches fine but it is only a small percentage of the screen in the middle. Is there any method to make it full screen? Thanks!

Try pressing F4 or Alt+Enter.
Maybe you will need to set desktop color depth to 16-bit, but as far as I know, only Heroes 3 requires it.
Hmm.. I see what you mean by maximising the window but sadly it already seems to be!
What is the max resolution the game has?
The game is in 640*480
If I understand what your saying is that you are running the game in fullscreen mode but only have a small scale image in the middle with a boarder around it due to your monitor resolution?
As the game runs in dosbox you may beable to tweak it so that it scales a little better. Here are the commands that should get it to a larger size I think but I don't know if the game will run with these settings or not. You need to find the dosbox.conf in the Homm2 folder and open it with notepad.
Then under [sdl] check what fullresolution= is set at it should be your monitors resolution. Above that setting is fullfixed= make sure that reads fullfixed=false if you want your image to stretch and take up the entire full screen.
Another thing you can do is have fullfixed=true and then under [render] change the scaler=none to scaler=normal2x to scale the game in propertion if fullfixed makes it stretch. You may still have a boarder around this but the image should hopefully be twice the size.
set the output to opengl or ddraw
and fullresolution to 0x0
aspect=true if you like it
Thanks very much guys, all your tips worked perfectly :)

Is 0x0 on fullresolution a default value for the windows setting?

Necto: Where do I put this?
In the configuration file. I am pretty sure the other posts in the thread mention it.
I just must not be very computer savvy because all I see in the folder location is an empty config folder.

you go to the folder where you installed HOMM2
then open a file call dosboxHOMM2.conf (or something like that)
Hey guys, I just updated my video cards and now the entire game seems to be zoomed in much closer, and when I'm in the castle, part of the castle is cut from the top of the screen. Any suggestions?
