Found the problem, it was my processor: it was addressed in GOG support under "Launch Problems>Intel processors >=10th gen"
The game runs now and I should be able to run it without much hassle on Linux.

The game crashes on the splashscreen just after the "Wired" logo, I have no idea why.
I initially thought it was a problem with Proton but I have the exact same crash on a real Windows install.
My GPU is a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop, any chances the game might have troubles with it?

Hey there,

I was having this problem too, and has been solved.

In this thread I posted my chat with GOG support, and they listed many other things to try if this doesn't work. Hopefully this helps you too.
