Please Note: Due to archive changes in preparation for future content updates, this patch is much larger than usual. Users with strict ISP download limits may want to review their usage before proceeding.

Major New Features

- New Content: The Hidden Path. Venture down the elusive route taken by the followers of the Witch Gods and discover the secrets known only to their most loyal servants. Your journey begins near Lower Crossing, but requires some Dynamite.
- The Hidden Path includes a wealth of new lore, 5 new bosses, a new dungeon, 3 new Monster Infrequents and 7 new Unique items.
- The digital copy of the world map is now included in the DLC folder for those with the respective DLC code. On Steam, you can right-click the game in your Library, select Properties, Local Files and Browse Local Files. You may have to start the game once for the map to download.

Mod Tools

- Note: due to changes to GameEngine.dbr, modders who edited this file should update it in their mod to account for the new loot randomizer tables.
- GameEngine.dbr edits in a mod will now properly override the default gameengine.dbr values when the mod is loaded under Custom Game
- Exporter (.dlo) files are now available in the installation directory for 32-bit versions of 3ds Max 2009, 2011 and 2012
- Flipped the condition logic for isDifficulty and LuaScript Quest and Conversation conditions so that they make more intuitive sense based on what the editors are displaying to the user (ex. LuaScript Test() < 7 now checks if the function returns a value less than 7, previously it would check if 7 is less than the returned value, similarly isDifficulty >= Epic used to check if Epic was >= to the current difficulty, now it checks if the current difficulty is Epic or greater)
- Maximum number of masteries increased from 10 to 30.
- Maximum terrain size in editor reduced from 256x256 to 128x128. Existing large terrains should be unaffected.
- Fixed a bug where skills would not load correctly in mods.

Art
- Male PC has undergone foot surgery, resulting in slightly smaller boot sizes.

Tech
- Fixed radial critical WeaponPool skills activating their own damage on non critical attacks.
- Fixed ChargedFinale WeaponPool skills using up twice as much energy as intended.
- Skill Modifier tooltips now include their base skill offensive modifiers in their calculated damage.
- Fixed dialog popups not scaling properly with UI scale.
- Fixed a bug where feared monsters would flee incorrectly.

Game
- Improved the ability for multiple pets to engage Bosses, Heroes and Nemesis Bosses.
- Increased the drop rate of Ectoplasm, Chipped Claws and Kilrian's Shattered Soul
- Reduced boss and hero resistance to Life Leech effects
- Reduced Damage over Time effects applied by monsters on Elite/Ultimate difficulty
- Reduced Leech Resistance on Obsidian Defilers to 100%, so that it is susceptible to resist reduction

- Removed, or added additional spawn locations to, static Treasure Trove locations that were missed in 1.0.0.2
- % Total Damage multiplier now only affects damage stats and no longer modifies non-damage effects such as % Damage Converted to Health, % Resistance Reduction, Armor Reduction, etc.
- Reduced the burst potential of certain poison abilities used by heroes and bosses (ex. Gastris, the Foul).

Itemization
- Rare item drop rates now scale better with difficulty, for a more rewarding experience when playing on Elite and Ultimate difficulty.
- Increased the drop rate of Unique items on Ultimate difficulty from non-Nemesis sources
- Improved the base attributes of all rare Monster Infrequents
- Significantly increased the affix-roll quality of Monster Infrequents
- Increased the drop rate of Monster Infrequents from all sources
- Cronley's Gang nemesis now has the same loot table as the Kymon's Chosen and Order of Death's Vigil nemesis bosses, as he is relatively easier to hunt down as well.
- A balance pass has been done on Faction Augments. Generally, the goal was to increase the appeal of some of the more lackluster damage-focused options and provide more viable options on Ultimate difficulty. With a select few exceptions, this is an all around buff to Augments.
- Added a Blacksmith to Fort Ikon with the same bonuses as the Homestead smith (including the Dynamite blueprint)
- Etram Fald now crafts belts when creating random Legendary Armor only, previously belts were also possible when crafting a random Accessory. In Addition, the tooltips for the blueprints now clarify that they will generate an Epic item if the character is below level 50 (58 for accessories).
- Rare Affixes - Added 2 new Rare Prefixes and 2 new Rare Suffixes for armor, focused on pet builds
- Rare Prefix - Cutthroat: added Pierce Resist at level 54+
- Rare Prefix - Merciless: added Poison Resist at level 54+

- Slight adjustment to % Weapon damage values on various Legendary item skills and procs
- Lifestealer Oil: reduced % Damage Converted to Health to 15%
- Reduced % Weapon damage on Troll Rage and Beronath's Fury to 122%. These skills serve as a good way to apply another Celestial Power for builds that do not take an auto-attack replacer, but the skill points they free up made them a bit too favorable, particularly for builds that already perform very well.
- Component - Aethersteel Bolts: reduced Resist Reduction applied by Aether Tendril to 15, but increased its damage dealt.

Patch 1.0.0.4 hotfix 2 (24 June 2016)

Fixed an issue with multiplayer connectivity that caused game connections to hang for a long time, or result in a crash.
Monster base resistances reduced on Elite/Ultimate difficulty, health increased to compensate. In addition, resistances have been normalized in Multiplayer, such that monsters no longer gain extra resistance with additional players. Instead, monster base health now scales higher with number of players.
Legendary - Justicar Armor Set: passive bonuses once again work with shields, in addition to melee weapons
Legendary - Shroud of Dreeg Set: increased % Damage bonuses on skill proc, Secrets of the Guardian, to 300% and the Poison damage to 75 / 5s
Legendary - Trozan's Ascension Set: slightly increased the damage of Falling Skies and Fallen Comet
Legendary - Valdun's Rifle: Perforator Round now fires 8 projectiles in a cone, damage reduced, cooldown increased. Overall a net buff to area damage, and to single target damage for those brave enough to point-blank with it.

Class & Skills
A frequent point of contention on the forum in recent updates has been the disparity between the various auto-attack replacers in the game. In the past, we have opted for small shifts in the balance rather than larger disruptions to the player "meta", but in the case of these skills it is time to throw in a wrench. We took a close look at Cadence, Fire Strike, Savagery and Amarasta's Blade Burst and considered where we want them to fit in various playstyles without becoming jack-of-all-trades abilities that are simply good at everything. Fire Strike is often brought up as an example of a skill that works (too) well. So with it as the starting point, we made adjustments to all four abilities (and many Component skills).

Devotion
Amatok, Spirit of Winter: increased % Health to 4%, added 60 Health
Bull: increased Physique by 10
Crab: increased Defensive Ability to 18
Crossroads: increased Offensive and Defensive Ability nodes to 18
Eel: increased Defensive Ability by 10

Tip the Scales: Increased Vitality damage, reduced % Leech by 15% to maintain healing similar to previous values
Trample: reduced % Weapon damage to 75%
Tsunami: reduced % Weapon damage to 25%, slightly increased Cold damage, added 33 Frostburn damage
Volcano: increased Fire and Burn damage
Wayward Soul: now activates off of all hits, rather than critical hits. Activation chance reduced to 20%.

Soldier
Cadence is intended to serve as a strong single-target ability and an applicator for some heavy bleed builds, with partial support for area of effect and weapon pool abilities. While it was alright for bleed builds, it was sorely behind in single-target potential. Both received a buff.
Blitz: % Weapon damage increased to 325% by rank 16, 415% by max ultimate rank. Now strikes with the main hand, rather than the off-hand. If used with a 1h + Shield, will deal damage with both.
Blindside: now also deals Internal Trauma damage, added % Internal Trauma damage bonus
Cadence: substantially increased % Weapon damage to 420% by rank 16, 500% by max ultimate rank
Fighting Form: projectile chance to pierce now scales up to 100% by rank 12, rather than at ultimate ranks. Increased Bleed and % Physical damage scaling with rank. Added % Pierce damage bonus.
Deadly Momentum: significantly increased Physical damage scaling with rank, increased % Damage bonuses and added % Pierce damage
Clean Sweep: reduced % Crit damage bonus to 25%
Forcewave: increased % Weapon damage to 170% by rank 16, 212% by max ultimate rank, affected area and distance traveled increased
Rending Force: Armor Reduction increased to 270 by rank 12, 550 by max ultimate rank
Tremor: increased % Weapon damage penalty to -75%, and % Total damage modifier penalty to -18%, overall a net buff with the buff to Forcewave.
Field Command: reduced Offensive and Defensive Ability to 75 by rank 12, 135 by max ultimate rank
Markovian's Advantage: reduced Defensive Ability Reduction scaling with rank
Military Conditioning: reduced % Health to 15% by rank 10, continues to scale up to 30% by max ultimate rank
Zolhan's Technique: Attack Speed Reduction now scales with rank to 33% by rank 12, 40% by max ultimate rank

Demolitionist
Fire Strike's strong scaling with weapon pool skills, single-target damage and very strong area of effect made it a bit too effective at everything. Its overall potential was toned down a bit, with a bigger hit to its single-target output. In addition, Searing Strike provided a little too much power for a 1 point Transmuter, so it is now a 3-point ability just like Might of the Bear, with its % Crit damage bonus reduced.
Fire Strike: reduced Fire damage scaling with rank, reduced % Weapon damage to 125% by max ultimate rank
Explosive Strike: slightly reduced Physical damage scaling with rank
Searing Strike: now requires 3 points to max out. % Crit damage reduced to 10%.
Static Strike: chance of triggering Lightning damage now starts at 33%, scaling up to 70% by rank 12, 80% by max ultimate rank. Lightning damage reduced. Overall a reduction in average damage, but the damage is more consistent.
Brimstone: Reduced Fire damage, but increased Chaos damage by the same amount
Flame Touched: % Lightning damage now scales at the same rate as the % Fire/Burn damage
Grenado: slightly reduced energy cost scaling with rank
High Impact: reduced energy cost scaling with rank

Crucible
Smoothed out the probability of earning Epics and Legendaries in the Crucible across all difficulties. Overall rewards should come more predictably.
Defeating the Crucible's 150th wave now always drops at least one Legendary item, with additional guaranteed Legendaries by difficulty.
Increased loot gained at waves 1-10 for characters just starting out.
Fixed an issue with the Wave 50 and 100 Checkpoints not properly activating in Multiplayer.

Celestial Blessings now include additional pet bonuses which persist through pet resummons. Prior to resummoning your pets, this is a net buff, so maintaining the same pet from the moment you activate the Blessing is quite potent.
Ulzuin's Pact now grants pets 15% Total Speed, as they are not affected by Cooldown Reduction.
The Vital Essence that appears at the end of a set of waves now also restores some health and energy.

Improved monster ability to recognize barriers when firing ranged attacks. Monsters are now likely to reposition themselves if a ranged attack strikes an obstacle rather than the intended target.
Pets such as the Raven familiar and the Blighted Rift Scourge will now attempt to reposition themselves whenever they shoot at obstacles rather than the intended target.
Fixes for doors that would cause invisible blockers.
Fix for pet status frames that would never be destroyed.

Major New Features

- The Fall of Valbury, a new Aetherial roguelike dungeon, is now available.
- With this massive new outdoor dungeon come 4 new Monster Infrequents, 2 new Unique items, 6 dangerous new bosses and mini-bosses and pages of new Lore to discover. Venture into Port Valbury and witness the complete destruction of a once vibrant commercial center and a reminder of the grim future that awaits all of Cairn should you and the Black Legion fail.
- Those seeking death in Port Valbury can begin their adventure in the Conflagration, northeast of Homestead. Those Honored with the Outcast may also want to pay her a visit.

Crucible

- Components that drop from beasts can now also drop in the Crucible.
- Slightly reduced the drop rate of Unique items on Aspirant difficulty.

Mod Tools

- Exposed the onPickUp Lua script hook to all items, previously was just quest items. This script hook fires when the item is picked up. Any function called receives two variables: looterID and itemID.

Animation

- Added missing Possession animation to the Dual Guns animation set

Tech

- Fixed an issue with auras becoming desynchronized in Multiplayer sessions (ex. aura buffs randomly coming on and off). This bug may have also been contributing to the Multiplayer Aura Kill bug that has been reported in the past. If that bug persists after this update, please let us know.
- Fixed an issue where the LAN lobby could freeze while looking for games.
- The DPS comparison on weapon tooltips now compares the DPS of the skill currently assigned to the left mouse button (LMB). If the assigned skill deals no damage, then the comparison defaults to default Weapon Attack. The DPS detailed tooltip in the character sheet now always shows Weapon Attack DPS regardless of what's assigned to LMB and RMB.
- Fixed a bug where calculated skill dps was not using the correct spell cast speed value.
- Fixed displayed resistances on the character sheet not accounting for overcapped resistances.
- Fixed a bug with mouse wheel scrolling used as a hotkey.
- Fixed being able to access difficulty levels your character had not unlocked yet.
- Fixed a bug where a disconnect from a Steam game could cause a game freeze.
- Fixed off-hand auto-attack not dealing damage when triggering a Cadence strike while dual wielding. Previously, you would trigger a Cadence attack, dealing the skill damage, but then the off-hand would not deal normal auto-attack damage.
- Fixed instances where attached Celestial powers would not show up on skill tooltips.
- Fixed a bug with Chain Lightning skills when spell cast speed was very high.
- Pickup hotkey now obeys item filtering.
- Critical Damage tooltip in the Character Sheet fixed.
- Fixed Resistance to Life Reduction not showing on Next Level skill tooltips.
- Fixed item names not being visible in the world at max camera zoom.

Game

- XP gain from enemies boosted around 5-10%, less at lower levels, more so at higher levels.
- Some minor difficulty adjustment to try to make ambient damage rate a bit more consistent. In Veteran, enemies had lower damage but higher Offensive Ability, resulting in more frequent but less damaging hits. In Elite Offensive Ability was inadvertently reduced below Veteran levels but damage was higher, resulting in less frequent but more damage attacks, which could make rate of damage more jumpy. I've tried to smooth this out a bit, so the way enemies scale from Veteran to Elite is more consistent and damage rate should be a little more normalized on Elite. Some of these changes will trickle through to Ultimate but it shouldn't have a big effect there, since certain values were already scaled well above Veteran and I just left them alone.
- Slightly increased drop rate of Unique items on Elite and Ultimate difficulties from non-Nemesis sources.
- Reduced some excessively high Aether resists on various enemies (ex. Aether Crystals, Flesh Hulks, Aetherial Phantoms). While these enemies are still highly resistant to the Aether, they should become more approachable for builds heavily reliant on Aether damage
- Slightly increased % damage bonuses from Cunning and Spirit. Monster base damage adjusted accordingly.
- Itemization
- Increased the base speed of melee (non-caster) weapons in the 20-55 level range. This is primarily a quality of life change for characters levelling with melee builds and is a net DPS buff.
- Reduced material costs of low level Epic Item Blueprints
- Added a new Fire-based two-handed rifle Monster Infrequent to a new variant of Fleshwarped Trolls
- Relic - Belgothian's Carnage: adjusted chance of Defensive Ability Reduction to 25% chance of 40 Reduction for 2s, reduced Pierce damage bonus to 8
- Relic - Primal Instinct: reduced % Attack Speed bonus for pets to 15%, reduced chance of spawning a minion on attack to 20%
- Component - Runestone: increased % Elemental Resist to 12% and added 12% Aether Resist
