This very useful post lists the order for installing all the mods and patches to be able to play the game on modern systems.

However, what would you do if you wanted to play the vanilla Gothic 2 (the so-called "Classic" version)? There's this post to help you. But then what do you do if you also want the game in Polish? Read on.

1. Gothic 2 Gold in German from GOG.com
2. In [gothic2]/_work/Data/Scripts/CONTENT/CUTSCENE make a copy of Ou.dat as Ou.bin and OU.lsc to OU.csl (otherwise, you won't get spoken dialogue for some reason)
3. Gothic 2 Gold patch: (gothic2_fix-2.6.0.0-rev2)
4. Gothic 2 Gold Player Kit (updated)

7. Extract these to system\GD3D11
8. Extract these to system\GD3D11\replacements
9. Gothic 2 Classic Mod (G2_Classic-1.1.exe) or unzip the PL version to [gothic2]
10. PL scripts/videos/dubbing/textures -- link

Now you can use the [gothic2]/system/GothicStarter.exe to launch the Gothic II Classic-Mod or Gothic II: Night of the Raven.

If you want to directly run the Classic-Mod you can create a link to the GothicStarter.exe with the following parameters:
-game:G2_Classic -start
