Basically, the GeForce 940MX isn't listed in the options menu, instead the game only utilizes integrated graphics, and the program doesn't show up in the NVIDIA GPU Activity. That results in choppy framerate.

I have the latest driver installed but I also heard rumors that the newer NVIDIA chips don't support <= DX8 games at all - which is infuriating, because this game works as intended on my PC with an AMD GPU.

I have also tried the D3D11-Renderer. While the GPU now shows activity at all, it tanks the performance even more than just with integrated graphics; I am also not a fan of the new effects.

Do you have any solutions for that problem?

Hello,

As mentioned on a previous post here, I have the same issue with Gothic 1. The Nvidia card on my laptop is not recognized, it only shows the built-in Intel HD card, hence the performance is not good. I also tried the D3D11-Renderer; it looks great but it seems to not have vertical sync, which makes the game unplayable for me. EDIT: I heard that pressing F11 opens Options menu for the D3D11-Renderer which has a vertical sync option, but I didn't try it yet. I will see when I can.

I did a lot of research and seems I found a solution but waiting for a reply from the developer of a script -which fixes this issue in some old games- to fix a bug. As soon as I have a fully working solution, I will post it on this forum in detailed steps. I didn't try it on Gothic 2 yet, but once I can make it work for Gothic 1, I will try for Gothic 2 too.

Can't tell how long it may take as I am waiting to hear from that developer, but I will post the steps here once it is sorted, as long as I am breathing.
