Hi,

I installed Gothic 1 (GOG version) on my laptop (Windows 10 Home 64bit) and when I go to Video Settings > Video Card option, it shows only the built-in Intel HD graphics card, but it does not show my Nvidia GT 740M card. Any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks.
You may need to access the bios of the laptop and set the Nvidia card as 1st in the priority order or maybe even disable native built-in video chip. The setting will be in there somewhere. With the correct bios setting the Nvidia card will then take precedence ever after.

Thanks for the tip. I checked my BIOS settings but it seems there's no option regarding the graphics card.

I tried the following: I disabled Intel HD graphics card from Device Manager, so the only active card was Nvidia card, but when I started Gothic 1, it showed "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" this time, and the option can't be changed as you can change other options in game.

The game looks good on Intel HD card, it's just that it doesn't have antialiasing on and I can't play without it.

As a sidenote, other games recognize my Nvidia card fine.
You might be able to "force" it with 'Nvidia Inspector" although i have not tried this.

I noticed it on YouTube -> Antialiasing in Gothic 1

worth a try?

The game is not recognizing the Nvidia card, so any changes made in Nvidia card have no effect on the game as I tried. The Youtube video looks like for a desktop PC, where there is only one graphics card, unlike my situation.

Thanks again.
