I see a lot of repeated questions here in the forums and I think this could be avoided.
Right now, lots of informations are scattered around lots of different sources like the forum, the client, the homepage, github, mantis etc.
When people got a problem with galaxy 2.0, a lot of them first look up the forum but there is no concentrated place for getting informations here, so they just make a new post with a question that probably was answered a few times already. So I think it would be a good thing to have one sticky faq thread, linking to the already existing faq, the changelog, the list of available integrations & more but also giving information and tutorials for how to install plugins or how to properly report problems.

As for the integrations, there are frequent questions about some of them, lots of people don't know what plugins even exist apart from those featured in the client as seen by frequent questions about twitch or battle.net integration. So having a thread for each integration with some information and a link to it's github would help a lot I think. Of course not every one-game or emulator integration thread needs to be sticky, but having a more concentrated place for informations and talking about stuff would improve the situation a lot.

Maybe some people of the community wanna do this together, I think I'm also down helping here. I just would like to coordinate this first instead of just doing it :'D

- GOG GALAXY 2.0 homepage including a smaller FAQ and the beta sign up

Questions:

What is working right now?

- Import games into your library
- Activity feed (showing achievements and playtime by you and your gog friends)
- Overview (recently played games by you and your gog friends, popular games, newest games added)
- Tags & bookmarks across different clients
- GOG friends list
- ...

What is not working right now?

- Adding games manually
- Integrated friends lists
- Uplay achievements
- Xbox play anywhere/Xbox Game Pass for PC
- automatically open and close a launcher when playing a game on it
- ...

I registered for the closed beta months ago, but still didn't get an invite! Did GOG forget about me?

Invitations are given out in chronological order. Since a lot of people registered in the first few days and invitations are given out slowly, if you registered a few days late in May or even later, they'll get to you once you're first in line.
If you know people that got an invitation already even if they registered after you, there was probably some mistake. Keep in mind that you need to have a gog account and that you use the same email address for your gog account and your galaxy 2.0 registration, otherwise you won't be able to login, even with an invitation.

What launchers can I add besides those featured inside the client?

GOG GALAXY 2.0 has a growing list of integrations. While Steam, EGS, Uplay, Origin and PSN can be added inside the client by just one click, there are many other community integrations available. You can find not only launchers for multiple games like twitch or battle.net, but also for single games like Final Fantasy XIV, Path of Exile or Guild Wars 2 and even some emulator integrations right here. As of now, there is a total of 19 integrations.

How do I add other integrations?

Look a few posts down below or click here. Credits @Horny_Reaper

I got a problem with the GALAXY 2.0 client. Where can I report the problem and get support?

Open GOG GALAXY 2.0 and click the cog icon located in the top left corner, select „Report issue“ and fill in the form to send a report. Alternatively, click here.

On what OS can I use GOG GALAXY 2.0?

Currently, GALAXY 2.0 supports MacOS and Windows 8.0 or newer. People reported it's also working on Windows 7, though as it is not supported, this might change any time. There are currently no known plans for Linux support.

I can't find my wishlist in the new client. Is there a way to access it?

Yes, though it it well hidden. Click on your Avatar -> Account Management -> Subscriptions -> Wishlist alerts and click on 'your wishlist'.
If you want a quick access to your wishlist, go to your wishlist as described and click on the url to your wishlist there (GOG.com/u/YourName/wishlist), you will be able to bookmark it, though it will be listed under Friends and not the Games bookmarks.

Not sure why we haven't done this yet. We should sticky threads for each of the principal integrations. Explaining its current stage and how to install its plugin if not available by default.
Well... We even could have separeted foruns for each integration in order to organize all feedback it will surely come.
I had dad thought too, a while ago, but can (some) non mods make sticky threads ? Otherwise, I fear, those faq threads will be buried in no time

I don't think that non mods can stick threads. Maybe if we just make them and they are good, somebody will stick them. Though that's some work just to get it used maybe. So yeah, cooperation with gog mods would be a great help in this.

Well I would say "If you build it they will come" so why not start one. Some thoughts:

- we use this thread as some point of draft - thread > so the faq thread itself only contains text that is verified and classified.
- looking at others threads that tried similiar things it looks like one (that would be the "keeper" of the thread would need to create the thread and post empty replies to reserve space for the faq (as posts have a limited letter count), and would be the only one to add/alter/remove information from there
- I don't think the faq needs extensive support for every extension available - I would say its best to cover only the main topics: where to get, how to install and where do I place feature request
- Answer should be short, and if guides are involved it may be better to just link to the actual threads

GOG, please... handle an imitative the right way. For once.
Creating an open forum for everyone and let it go without any consideration, is not how you should handle a closed beta.

Why such incompetence? All the time?

Reorganize this forum and start engaging with the community.
Otherwise this "closed beta" was just a move to willingly switch as many people as possible to Galaxy v2?

Agree to everything. The 'keeper' should just be somebody that is at least somewhat active. We could use this thread to post ideas and work on it until it's finished and someone can post it. So if anybody wants to contribute a first version or just some part or tutorial, feel free to do :D
As will I in the next days I think.
So, I made a first draft of anything that came into my mind. It's not really well sorted or formatted yet and I probably missed a lot. But anybody can build on that if you want to.

Bumpin' 'til this is a sticky! Thanks OP for the hard work!
Thanks :)
Though I would prefer to make a completely new thread the sticky one when the FAQ is more refined and not this one here.

Btw, I'd love for somebody to do the add integrations tutorial, including stuff like setting invisible folders to visible. I would do it, but my windows in in german with different words for some folders and settings and I would need to find a translation for everything first. Doing this with an english version of Windows might be much faster to do.

I fav'd it so at least it's not buried for me, I still have a lot to learn myself and would not do the tutorial any justice, but yes, I would hope that someone could help with the translation, as it stands my Deutsche is pretty crap!

Press<Windows Key> + R. This will open the "Run" program of Windows. So paste this path below and press ENTER.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\gog.com\galaxy\plugins

This will lead you directly to your plugin folder.

Its not a full tutorial but may help with this problem by now. Gonna do something more complete when I get some time.

Dont know how to do it in Mac.

Manually installing integrations

First of all, this tutorial is intended for Windows 10 users. Paths and commands may be diferent in others Windows versions.

1. Go to awesome-gog-galaxy repository in GitHub: https://github.com/Mixaill/awesome-gog-galaxy

2. Name your poison. I mean search the list of integrations in the page and select the one you wish. Just click in its link and you will be directed to the correct repository.

3. Once on the correct repository you should land exactly in the page where the last release of the integration is available to download. Old releases are available on this page too but you will normally be interested in the last one (Latest release).

4. Click on the "windows.zip" file link to download the compacted folder with all files related to the integration.

5. After download the file you can extract the files to your GOG Galaxy's plugin folder. There are many ways to do this but I will try to show what I think is the easiest.
5.1. Press <Windows Key> + R. This will open the "Run" program of Windows.
5.2. Paste this path below on your "Run" program and press ENTER.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\gog.com\galaxy\plugins\installed
5.3. This will lead you directly to your installed plugins folder. Keep this window open while you grab the file you need.
5.4. In a new window, open the folder where you saved the "windows.zip" file and copy it.
5.5. Paste the "windows.zip" file in your installed plugins folder.
5.6. Right click the "windows.zip" file and select the "Extract all..." option from the context menu.
5.7. Windows will ask where you wish to extrat the files. Keep all path to your installed plugins folder as it is but change the last folder name (windows) according to your integration name (ex. battlenet, steam or origin). Click on "Extract".
5.8. Once this is done, delete the "windows.zip" file from your installed plugins folder. You dont need it here anymore.

6. If GOG Galaxy 2.0 is running. Close it and open it again. This should suffice to let it reconize its new plugin.

7. On GOG Galaxy 2.0, go to "Configurations > Platforms > Integrations" and check if your new integration is there.

8. If everything is right, click in "Connect" and follow the instructions to connect to that platform.

Awesome :) I'll update my current faq version with a link to it for now.
To get things rolling I took the liberty and started a FAQ thread.

Please be patient its very much work in progress, but I will work on it during the next couple of days.

If anyone got anything that should be added/corrected feel free to post here

@Riku55 If your not okay with this, just tell me I will ask the mods to remove the thread and give you the markup (if you have any use for it)
