It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

fabelhahn: Indeed: the current version of GOG Galaxy is causing RepairGOG-GalaxyImages not to work while still having the years old bug with the cover images sometimes not showing...
The problem is: GOG Galaxy simply does not download the cover image at all. No 0 byte file. Nothing. Since it seems nearly impossible to find the game ID by folder name I can't get a list of images for a game to download. I tried some workarounds but it costs so much time and it seems there is no "easy fix" for this on my side.
Bugfixing the problem itself is something the developers at GOG should do!

MarkoH01: Thank you for taking the time to read this. Since your script did indeed work pretty good for earlier versions of Galaxy this is what I would suggest:

1) Uninstall Galaxy
2) Reinstall older version of Galaxy like this
https://content-system.gog.com/open_link/download?path=/open/galaxy/client/2.0.71.2/setup_galaxy_2.0.71.2.exe
3) Use Repair script and repair all images.
http://48design.de/en/news/2023/08/29/gog-galaxy-repair-images/#gog-galaxy-bug
4) Check for Galaxy updates and let Galaxy update itself with all images intact.

That was the way it worked for me.
I'm havin problems with the custom images as well at the moment: Quick question about your solution: How will uninstalling and reinstalling GOG (albeit an older version) affect my tags, tiles etc.? Should I back up anything to be safe and if so what exactly?
tags made in Gog Galaxy are stored online and local so if you uninstall Galaxy then resinstall it as a older build it should grab those tags the next time it goes online unless you block its ports

note the guide posted by MarkoH01 doesn't block those ports

tags made before using Galaxy i.e, off line installed or just the browser ui are not stored and don't carry across but its been years since that change and most users should have moved on by now

It depends on how you are using Galaxy. All manually added games (those games in which you have to tell the client where they are and what their executavle is) will have to be readded again after a new installation the same way you have added them before, If you use other integrations you'd need to reconnect the integrations (Steam/Epic/Ubisoft ect.) afterwards again ( no need to do further szteps here) and if you use it for GOG games you'd only have to import your installed games afterwards by selecting Cogwheel -> Add Games & Friends -> Scan Folders for GOG games and then browse to the folder of your installed GOG games.

I have uninstalled the client a few times since I am using it and always was able to get my stuff back without making any backup before - with the methods shown above. You could try to backup your actual library as it is (including all integrations ect) by archiving the following folder: "\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage" but it could be that the databases between those two versions of Galaxy are too different for the old version to accept the database of the new one. Feel free to contact me directly via chat if you should have further questions :)
There seems to be a method that works reliably and doesn't require old versions of Galaxy or a script.
Credits go to Hybrid6781 (and at least partially NiEYO27) who found the solution in the thread lots_of_greymissing_game_tiles_icons_after_clean_install (can't post links).

Disclaimer: I'm only the 3rd recorded person who tried this so maybe it's not as perfect as it seems at first.

But I've 901 games (roughly 1/2 Epic and 1/2 GOG) and every single (tile) image (didn't check the other kinds of images but also never missed anything else) is back.

Here are my exact steps:

1. Exit GOG Galaxy (I didn't log out and didn't have to enter credentials later)
2. Move webcache folder (located in C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy ) to a different place in case this fails
3. Connect (Nord-)VPN to Brazil (Location might matter; free Tunnelbear connection worked for NiEYO27)
4. Open GOG Galaxy and wait (you can check in the task manager; most of the time Galaxy is not actually using the network but I saw 1 MB/s disk usage until all pictures appeared; I would wait until the disk and network usage drop to normal levels because there are 3 images per game and you'll probably only notice the missing tiles at first)

Took maybe 10 minutes until all tiles appeared (didn't check the exact time for the disk usage to drop but less than 30 minutes and probably also just 10).

I had to restart GOG twice, and I used PlanetVPN to Brazil, but it worked! Thank you!
Yes, it works, I tried with a free account from TunnelBear vpn, and in 20 minutes I had all the icons(I have 844 games).
Still interested in getting to know if VPN is even necessary or if a new ip would be enough.
