Yes, bad_module_info is a crash variant of the same issue.
Getting this too, while it doesn't appear to affect anything it is incredibly annoying as it fills up the reliability monitor which I use to track actual problems (like how often AMD drivers are crashing)
Having the same issue since the newest update. Literally dozens of the same Critical Event; GalaxyClientService stopped working. Attached is just one of the many, many, many Critical Events related to PocoNet.DLL

Also getting errors for ntdll.dll and ucrtbase.dll

Yep, I'm getting these as well. Happened in the last few days. Getting errors every minute or 2. Very annoying! This needs to be fixed or I'll just go Steam for all my games!

hexaae: Possible temporary workaround: uninstall new and reinstall old version from this link
https://cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/2.0.55.99/setup_galaxy_2.0.55.99.exe
Maybe back up %AllUsersProfile%\GOG.com\Galaxy\ before uninstalling so you don't lose all your settings and bookmarks like I did.

Then I clicked "Update later" multiple times, but then the next time I started it up, it had updated automatically. So you'll want to rename %AllUsersProfile%\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\GalaxyUpdater.exe before you start the old version for the first time.

And if your list of installed games is empty, click the cogwheel in the top left, then Add Games & Friends, then Scan Folders for GOG Games.

smuggly: I reported it and they are trying to say it was my antivirus and let these file through etc.
Tell the support agent lots of people are having the same issue and point to this forum thread and other similar ones.

Same since the new version.

If we check the changelog ( which itself is buggy, the year is still 2022 but we are in meanwhile in 2023 ;) ) they mentioned updated libs. So may that match with all the errors..

Thanks for these instructions. Same problem here. I've reported it as well. Hope they fix it soon.
2 days with the good old GOG Galaxy 1.2.67 (and %AllUsersProfile%\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\GalaxyUpdater.exe removed) and no issues or attempts to force/ask me to upgrade to 2.x!
Games update nicely and check-version is still working fine on the old client.
I'm happy with this solution 'till GOG will fix their recent disaster...

Just rebooted and it forced update on me, I don't have the patience to stop it from doing that so it'll just have to remain uninstalled until they fix the problem.

MojoVersion8: Just rebooted and it forced update on me, I don't have the patience to stop it from doing that
1. Start File Explorer.
2. Enter %AllUsersProfile%\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\ into the address bar.
3. Rename GalaxyUpdater.exe to something else (for example, GalaxyUpdater.exe-disabled).

That's all it takes.

... and disable from 1.2.67's Settings the Beta partecipation option just to be sure.
4 days and still no hotfix from GOG, sigh...

They should roll this update back. It's terrible. I installed playnite so I don't have to deal with it.
