So I tried an AGP 6600GT with driver 66.93 and that also works fine!

So I don't think this game uses shadow buffers but something else that seems to break on newer machines.
I'm only surprised the pc community have never tried to hunt down the problem and fix it. I have seen some people do some amazing things with broken games.

Yea it's odd.

Tried another card: 7800GTX with 77.77 driver and this one also works!

The 8800GT didn't work however, so I'm probing to see if it's a driver issue or hardware issue.

EDIT: 7800GTX with 307.83 has broken lights / shadows.

Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow GeForce 7800 GTX 60 fps
Why is Rainbow Six 2 Rogue Spear not on GOG or Steam.

Also why is both Chaos Theory and Raven Shield not on GOG :(

I think Rogue Spear might have to do with its compatibility on newer systems. It is a bit of a touchy little thing to get running if I recall correctly.
WAIT WAIT WHAT?? I still have a cd copy of pandora tomorrow and got it to work on vista with a laptop using a gt 240m and core 2 duo at the time..????

Do you mind recording it with FRAPS in the first level and putting it on YouTube?

Hi there!

The video indeed is pretty cool, but i seriously doubt that tech issue is the one that prevents Ubi releasing the game trough GOG. They are used to release supposed t̶r̶i̶p̶l̶e̶ ̶A̶̶̶A̶A̶ games, but the final result turns to be something close to a low ended/low budget game.

Anyway, leaving apart all the complain about Ubi like a game brand, i should say that SC Pandora Tomorrow was updated in the HD Trilogy; i own it on PS3 and it do have the shadow/lights effect you talk to in the video you linked (Not all is that pretty, cause the game seems to run like 10 FPS ... ... ... and more ...), and we all know that develop games in PS3 is hard so being PC easier, it easy to understand that Ubi is just not interested in release the game updated in PC.

Isn't the PS3 release based on the PS2 games? They are slightly different to the PC version I believe.

You know what's really amazing?

Pandora Tomorrow on 2005 PC hardware:

1200P and 60+ FPS.

And today's consoles struggle with 1080P and 30 FPS.
I certainly don't know if the game is based on the PS2 version; however, his light/shadow effects works very nice if we consider how old is the game.

Hmmmm, i believe isn't consoles fault, i think is more a game engine problem (Ubi's fault). Rockstar games do work like a charm with the RAGE engine.

The game is actually really good. More polished and "playable" than the first one which was quite picky sometimes with enemies spotting you randomly. The levels are interesting and varied. The train mission in particular is quite fun to play.

OP's video reminded me that mission in Israel, where I had not a slightest idea where light goes and had to do massive guesswork. :D Awesome experience, though.
