Why, ObsCure is, it's so hard to find, you can't even find it on GOG anymore!
:D

This is a shop after all so it's normal to see games being removed from the catalog after a while. But given the way we were accustomed to be informed about everything, it would have been nice to be informed (in advance) about this removal too :)
i'm a little weirded out that the staff hasn't commented yet. this is something they usually would resolve publicly in the first place, it's strange that they haven't even commented on this thread yet...

Especially since, and I know I'm repeating myself here, I've specifically asked them twice to do just that, using the support function.
I trust GOG is doing what it feels is best for all. I'm sure they just didn't want to cause a panic like before. Last time certainly wasn't fun for them I'm sure. =/
Possibly due to legalities they are unable to comment, or commenting may prevent them from restoring the game somehow.
Glad I bought it when I did anyway..it's unfortunate this keeps happening. It's hurting GOG's rep. :(

Is it? I always thought the fact that things never run out of stock was one of the awesome things of digital distribution (The Prey sale on steam was an interesting exception). I wasn't aware that in digital distribution items were removed from the catalog after a while. Does this happen with any of the big distributors (Steam, GG,D2D,Impulse)?

For the record, that is not the first time Valve have run out of CD keys for a game. While you may expect digitally sold games to have a limitless supply, when CD keys and other unique identification systems are used, there will always be a finite stock. And that will always depend on how many keys, etc., are supplied.
GOG may not use keys, but they aren't exempt from losing stock due to legal reasons, recalls and so forth. So yes, even digital stores suffer the some of the same problems as a brick and mortar store.
Oh and yes, games have vanished from D2D, GamersGate and Steam and many other digital distribution stores (such as Big Fish) for a variety of reasons.

Well that's my guess, certainly. Otherwise I'm sure they would have made a comment by now.
Hey everyone! Sorry for the moment of silence about this. We’ve had to remove Obscure because of some licensing issues that we hope to have cleared up soon. As you already know, for those who have already purchased it, the game will continue to be available for download. We'll let you know when the game is back - but I'm sure you'll notice it when it appears in the catalogue :)

Thanks for the official heads-up. And yes, someone seems to notice anything that goes amiss on the site ;-)
I'm a little disturbed by the comments about games that were once available and are no longer. Aside from the Colin McRay are there any others and if so were they still available in your library once they were removed from Gog?

They remain in your library. Don't worry about that. Another one which has been removed is ToCA Race Driver 3. I've got that one and it's still downloadable.

I'm a little disturbed by your lack of awareness. Did you not read what is posted right above your post? If you've bought it it's still there for you to download. I think there was only one or two games that you couldn't download anymore, but they gave plenty of warning for those.
Surprisingly reading can be good for you.

Sure in regards to Obscure it's still available for download but I was more curious about the larger picture. For instance if a developer, in the future, pulls the plug altogeather and doesn't support Gog anymore would their games still appear in your library.

Thank you that is reassuring

Gotcha, then what Navagon said.
